Olen turvallisuussyistä aivan tarkoituksella jättänyt pois run saasti yksityiskohtia kertoessani Israelin turvallisuuspalvelun eli Shin Betin arkaluontoisista operaatioista.Tässä kirjassa esiintyvät tiedot eivät vaaranna vähimmässäkään määrin meneillään olevaa maailmanlaajuista terrorismin vastaista sotaa, jossa Israelilla on erittäin merkittävä rooli. Viruin vankina Is raelin pelätyimmän vankilan uumenissa.

From Radical Muslim To Israeli Spy The- Moshe Holender Green Prince - Yitzchok Wagschal Code-named “The Green Prince,” Mosab Hassan Yousef betrayed his father and passed intel from the highest echelons of Hamas to Israel’s internal intelligence agency for years. Amazingly, he is still alive to tell his story. The True Interview As the eldest son of the influential sheikh who co-founded Hamas, Mosab Hassan Yousef seemed destined to follow in his father’s footsteps. Growing disillusioned with the terrorist organization’s ideology, which glorified death and taught that jihad was the only path to victory, he eventually agreed to work as a spy for Israel’s internal security agency, the Shin Bet. It was a decision that would not only change the course of his life, but save hundreds of innocent civilian lives. His Shin Bet handler, Gonen Ben-Yitzchak, met with Zman for an in-depth inter- view, including never-before-revealed details, and provided us with a unique firsthand account of Mosab’s riveting story—a story of trust, betrayal and the dark world of secret intelligence. 132 | ZMAN • December 2015 ZMAN • Kislev 5776 | 133 hin Bet Captain Loai had just received Ten minutes later he called Loai back and he thought as they rumbled down the road an intelligence report about a terror- told him, “The guy is staying in room 120.” toward a safe house in Yerushalayim. • Shalom: Peace, Not Just Peace of Mind Parashat Ki Tetze Rabbi Daniel Cotzin Burg, Beth Am 9.6.14 ~ 11 Elul 5774
Shalom: Peace, Not Just Peace of Mind Parashat Ki Tetze Rabbi Daniel Cotzin Burg, Beth Am 9.6.14 ~ 11 Elul 5774 This week I spent a day in Washington with thought-leaders, rabbis and policy analysts. We were speaking about Israel, America’s relationship with the Jewish state and the current deeply troubling state of affairs in the Middle East. The most surprising and powerful presentation of the day was that of Mosab Hassan Yousef, son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef, a founder and spiritual leader of Hamas. Given the events of this summer, it was particularly poignant to hear the heartfelt and courageous words of this young author and former Israeli asset (as he sat on the dais across from his Shin Bet handler). To even begin to conceive of such heroism, we almost have to transport ourselves into a different time – say Germany of the 1940s, when precious few righteous individuals resisted and acted against the scourge of Nazism. We might visit Rwanda or Cambodia, Darfur or America’s antebellum south. There are far too many examples in human history of pervasive, systematic violence and too few stories of those who made the hardest choices to turn against their fathers, brothers and their communities and attempt to salvage their dignity and humanity. Or perhaps we should roll the Torah back from its current location near the end, to a story near the very beginning whose hero, a simple man named Noah, is tzadik tamim haya b’dorotav, “a righteous man, blameless in his generation” (Gen. 6:9). I would argue it’s virtually impossible for us, most or all of us in this room, to know what it is like to live among the truly malevolent and depraved – a society so bad God sees no recourse but to erase it and start over.

  • Parole in Conflitto

  • Israel & the Last Days
    P. M. WILLIAMS BIBLE PROPHECY AND THE LAST DAYS [24/05/13] ISRAEL & THE LAST DAYS – PART 6 1When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt... 3Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them; 4For the LORD your God is he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you. (Deu 20:1, 3-4) A HISTORICAL SKETCH OF ISRAEL FROM 1948 – PRESENT – PART 3 Recap We learnt last week of the Camp David Accords which were signed in September 1978 between Israel and Egypt securing peace between these two countries on the condition that the Sinai be returned to the Egyptians. Another part of the accords was a framework that was drawn up establishing a format for future negotiations regarding the transfer of Arab-Palestinian governance of the West Bank and Gaza Strip which Israel seized control of in the 1967 war. The Sinai was given back to Egypt in 1982, but negotiations to hand back the West Bank and Gaza did not occur until the 1990’s in the Oslo Accords. We learnt that through much of the late 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, Yasser Arafat’s PLO terrorist organisation reined terror upon Israeli civilians operating out of the countries of surrounding nations including Jordan in the 60’s, Lebanon in the 70’s and early 80’s and finally Tunisia.

  • Honor Killings" Triggers Palestinian Calls for Cultural Changes, New Laws
Bulletin – July 1, 2012 PA: Israel spreads drugs to destroy Palestinian society by Itamar Marcus and Nan Jacques Zilberdik One day after Iranian Vice President Mohammad-Reza Rahimi was condemned internationally for saying that Jews and their Talmud are responsible for international drug trafficking, no less than five articles in the official PA daily cited different Palestinian Authority officials accusing Israel of having a policy to disseminate drugs among Palestinian youth. The Governor of Jericho said that Israel "is encouraging and turning a blind eye to [drug] dealers and their efforts to distribute drugs, through a systematic policy to destroy Palestinian society, targeting the youth." The District Governor of Jenin said Israel "seeks to harm the Palestinian people and to destroy it and its national enterprise [through drugs] as a continuation of its Zionist enterprise." The District Governor of Ramallah spoke about the drug problem, mentioning Israel's "efforts to humiliate our youth, to break their willpower, and to distance them from their [Palestinian] cause and their principles, by spreading drugs among them" and emphasized that "the occupation does not hesitate to exercise all forms of control over our youth, using dirty and inhuman methods." This is not the first time that Israel has been accused by the PA of intentionally spreading drugs. Advisor to Prime Minister Salam Fayyad has claimed that Israel "spreads prostitution and drugs" among Arab residents of Jerusalem. [PA TV (Fatah), June 23, 2010] The PA has also accused Israel of spreading AIDS among Palestinians: Similarly, at a seminar about drugs organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the head of the Palestinian Authority's drug fighting agency said: "This plague [AIDS] is a political problem which is nurtured by Israel." [Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 24, 2010] The official PA daily reported that a Health Ministry official blamed Israel for the spread of AIDS among Palestinians: "Director of Public Health in the Health Ministry, Dr.

  • Facing Israel: the Struggle for Hope
1 Facing Israel: The Struggle for Hope Kol Nidre 5775 Rabbi Michael Z. Cahana, Congregation Beth Israel, Portland Oregon Somewhere, deep in a vast American military base in Sicily, a skype call was initiated. It was mid-summer and the young man was calling his rabbi: in Portland, Oregon. Now, this is the kind of thing you live for in my line of work. One of my students, a young man with promise, making his way in the world, wanted to speak to the rabbi of his youth! He had a problem and he hoped his rabbi could help. There he was on my computer screen - looking more like a man than I ever did at his age. Confident. Secure. Military. "Rabbi," he said after some preliminaries, "I'm constantly getting into fights with people on the base." I raised an eyebrow. "No, verbal fights, arguments" he corrected my obvious misconception. "About Israel." "They know I'm Jewish. And with the war going on in Gaza, I am always put in the position of having to defend Israel. But I don't have the words. Can you help me, rabbi?" Well, this wasn't exactly the spiritual crisis I had expected. Or maybe it was. He had learned from me, I hope, the Jewish ideals of compassion. Not seeking vengeance from an enemy. He had learned that G-d wept over Pharaoh's army drowned in the rushing waters while Moses and the Israelites cheered their victory from oppression. G-d cries for the victims. So should we. He had learned - this military man - that while the Torah acknowledges there is a time for peace and a time for war, that there are ancient Jewish rules of warfare that stress concern for the innocent.

  • Freeing Gilad Shalit: the Cost to Israel | the Washington Institute
MENU Policy Analysis / PolicyWatch 1859 Freeing Gilad Shalit: The Cost to Israel by David Makovsky Oct 13, 2011 ABOUT THE AUTHORS David Makovsky David Makovsky is the Ziegler distinguished fellow at The Washington Institute and director of the Koret Project on Arab-Israel Relations. Brief Analysis Although the Shalit deal may help Netanyahu, the massive prisoner release will backfire on him if there is a spate of terrorist attacks. n Tuesday, Israel and Hamas announced a two-phase prisoner exchange that would secure the release of O Sgt. Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier kidnapped in 2006 and held for more than five years in Gaza. In return, Israel would release 1,027 prisoners, including 280 who are serving life sentences for their involvement in terrorist acts. The deal was initially mediated by Gerhard Conrad, a senior German official with expertise in the Middle East who has overseen prisoner swaps between Israel and Hizballah since the 1990s. But it was Egyptian intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Murad Muwafi who played the pivotal role in recent weeks. According to reports of the deal, Israel will first release the most controversial 450 prisoners, in exchange for which Hamas will hand over Shalit to Egypt. Israel will then choose an additional 550 or so ostensibly non-Hamas prisoners for release. The group's leader -- Khaled Mashal, based in Damascus -- has reported that the first release will occur within a week and the second within two months. After on-and-off negotiations since Shalit's capture, new circumstances have apparently made a deal possible. The Calculations of Hamas R ecently, Hamas has watched Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas, the leader of its rival, Fatah, enjoy an enormous domestic boost as a result of his UN statehood bid.

Following the signing of this new law, the PA is now paying a salary to these prisoners.
