House Resolution 1912 By: Representatives Efstration of the 104th, Coleman of the 97th, Harrell of the 106th, Clark of the 101st, Barr of the 103rd, and others

A RESOLUTION

1 Recognizing and honoring ; and for other purposes.

2 WHEREAS, a native of Albany, Georgia, Dallas Davidson is a singer and songwriter who 3 has had more than 100 of his compositions recorded and 13 number one singles to his name, 4 including and 's "," 's "All Over Me," and 5 's "All About Tonight"; and

6 WHEREAS, he has received numerous awards and accolades, including the 2012 ACM 7 Songwriter of the Year Award; a 2012 ACM nomination for Song of the Year for Lady 8 Antebellum's "Just a Kiss"; the 2011 BMI Country Awards' Songwriter of the Year Award; 9 and Billboard's Hot Songwriter of 2010 Award; and

10 WHEREAS, currently the Vice Chairman of the Georgia Music Foundation, Mr. Davidson 11 is the recipient of three CMA Triple Play Awards, a coveted honor that recognizes the rare 12 feat of achieving three number one singles in one year; and

13 WHEREAS, other notable acts with which he has been associated include Brooks & Dunn, 14 , , , , , Montgomery 15 Gentry, Rhett Atkins, and ; and

16 WHEREAS, an avid outdoorsman who often writes of his love for and experiences while 17 fishing and hunting, Mr. Davidson has proven he also has the skills necessary to pen a perfect 18 crossover gem; and

19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments and 20 talent of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that 22 the members of this body recognize and honor Dallas Davidson for his exemplary feats in 23 the music industry and extend to him their most sincere best wishes for continued success.

24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized 25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to 26 Dallas Davidson.
