The Power of Decision: A Step-by-Step Program to Overcome Indecision and Live Without Failure Forever, Raymond Charles Barker, Penguin Group (USA) Incorporated, 2011, 158542854X, 9781585428540, 207 pages. Introducing the first book in a powerful new series, The Tarcher Master Mind Editions: Essential Books of Inspiration, Instruction, and Motivation. What mind can conceive, man can achieve. Our decisions impact every area of our lives. Making better decisions means living a better life. But how can we develop the habit of making great decisions? Every noteworthy achievement the world has ever seen was born with a single thought; and every great man who ever lived has been a man of decision. Raymond Charles Barker's The Power of Decision reveals this principle of success and illustrates the process of choice that all of us must take-and that all of us are capable, this very second, of taking-to change our lives and make our dreams come true. Indecisive people are failure prone, and Dr. Barker examines this basic truth while exploring the decision-making process in the individual, and the role of the subconscious mind in either abetting or thwarting each of our conscious decisions. He provides specific steps to shift the balance of decision-making power in your favor, and he brings to light the constant, ever-present power of will to change a situation- and yourself-for the better. Picking up The Power of Decision is the moment; and reading it is the decision that will change your life forever..

This book changed my life. The author provides a wealth of information on how to make good decisions. He also combines personal experiences with humor in this delightful book. Truth be known, if an individual was to incorporate the wisdom contained in this book into the decision making process, there would be a lot less pain in each individuals world. Raymond Charles Barker provides processes for treating the subconscious blocks which prevent individuals from attaining their goals. These treatments include everything from creating new ideas, eliminating problems, creating happiness, removing the belief of lack and limitation, how to decongest your consciousness and how to create a fresh mind!

I began reading the book as support material to a class I am taking at the International Spiritual Center of Eugene. Knowing I needed to read it to participate in the class yet thinking this would likely be like many other books I have read over the years, I was pleasantly surprised with the content. The author doesn't paint a flowering picture or simply give theory on how to adjust our thinking and create a more abundant life. Absolutely wonderful, a classic in its own right. As far as "" or Science of the Mind books go, it's incredible - one of those books where you find a new insight in practically every paragraph. He is very straightforward, which is surprisingly empowering because his message - that your own choices define your life - not only gives you the responsibility for your current life, it gives you the tools for making each day going forward into the life you want. I'd consider this a must-read and a great companion book to anything by Ernest Holmes, , Esther and Jerry Hicks/Abraham, and the like.
