Within 48 hours of discovering Joe’s five steps in The Attractor Factor, I got another car, which cost me nothing, and received my first freelance writing project. In less than five months, the debt was gone, I paid cash for a brand-new SUV, started my own successful online business, met my future wife, and moved to a dream setting in the Texas hill country. This book will help you attract whatever you wish to bring into your life—fast!” —Bill Hibbler, Owner, www.Gigtime.com “This book really slaps people on the head and gets them thinking. It’s the ultimate self-improvement manual and it’s gonna blow some socks off!” —Nerissa Oden, www.TheVideoQueen.com “Why do some people have all the luck and get everything they want, while others struggle? Is there a ‘secret’ that, if you only knew it, could change everything? Yes, definitely— and Joe Vitale knows what it is. I highly recommend The Attractor Factor to anyone who wants to change their relation- ship to money and prosperity—or who just enjoys reading great writing.” —Bill Harris, President, www.Centerpointe.com “Understand this is not just a book. It contains the key to un- leash the ‘genie’ in you so you can grant your own wishes on demand. Quite simply, this is the only book you need to get whatever you want from your life. Buy it now.” —Craig Perrine, www.easymiracles.com ffirs.qxd 1/19/05 4:44 PM Page ii “If ‘working hard’ worked as a wealth strategy, then every hard worker would be a multimillionaire. If dreaming alone brought you your heart’s desire, then we would all be deliri- ously happy (since we all dream, at least when we sleep). So what is the secret of health, wealth, and enduring happiness? Joe Vitale has it; I’ve tried it; we’ve both made it work (as have a select group of others), and now you can, too! Just read this book and follow its surprisingly simple directions.” —David Garfinkel, Author, Copywriting Templates “Joe Vitale’s extraordinary ability to teach through powerful and engaging storytelling has never been so effectively uti- lized as it has been with The Attractor Factor. This book should be required reading for every human being on the planet, as there is no greater lesson we can learn than that of our infinite ability to attract abundance through living our purpose and passions. Outstanding!” —Bob Doyle, Creator, www.WealthBeyondReason.com Program “I love all of Joe’s books and when I read The Attractor Factor I knew, without doubt, he had another winner. Here is the book everyone has been waiting for . that explains in simple terms the why’s and how-to’s of attracting the things you want into your life. In his inimitable style, Joe delivers the goods here without hype. It’s simply a brilliant, must-read book that an- swers all the questions and will turn your life around.” —Terri Levine, MCC, PCC, Author, and CEO of www.CoachingInstruction.com “I love Joe Vitale’s work! The Attractor Factor delivers the se- crets of success from someone who’s lived through failure and come back triumphant. It’s profound truth in a fun, easy read. • Getting to Know the Score a Heuristic Study Of
Getting to know the score: A heuristic study of problem gambling Timothy Malcolm Crisp MSc Counselling Psychology Keele University 2018 Timothy M Crisp / 15019739 Getting to know the score: A heuristic study of problem gambling Timothy Malcolm Crisp Abstract Relatively little is known about the experience of problem gambling, but the issue of betting addiction impacts upon a worrying number of people. More than two million people in the United Kingdom are classified as being either problem gamblers, or at risk of developing a betting addiction (Gambling Commission, 2018, p.24). Yet, the British Psychological Society (2011) and the American Psychological Association (2013) identify a disturbing lack of study into the phenomenological experience of problem gambling. Using heuristics (Moustakas, 1990), I conducted a self-study into my experience of problem gambling. I adopted such a qualitative approach, as I wanted to realise the unique nature, essence and meanings of my addiction. My data was gathered in a journal, at the time I was experiencing my betting problem, and in retrospect. The tacit knowledge and understanding that emerged was collated into three themes. The first theme determined that my problem gambling was only concerned with in-play betting, and not online or high-street activity, due to the relative intensity of the encounter. The causes of my addiction were found to occur in succession; originally escape, then a confidence in the structured approach of a strategy. My previous experience of a sizeable win proved a continued and strong influence. The additional themes occurred sequentially. Initially, where the beneficial aspects of control, escape and reality were discovered to be illusory, and finally, where I encountered the shock of a spontaneous self-combustion.

Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres by Vivian Le A THESIS submitted to Oregon State University Honors College in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems (Honors Scholar) Presented May 29, 2020 Commencement June 2020 AN ABSTRACT OF THE THESIS OF Vivian Le for the degree of Honors Baccalaureate of Science in Accounting and Business Information Systems presented on May 29, 2020. Title: Visual Metaphors on Album Covers: An Analysis into Graphic Design’s Effectiveness at Conveying Music Genres. Abstract approved:_____________________________________________________ Ryann Reynolds-McIlnay The rise of digital streaming has largely impacted the way the average listener consumes music. Consequentially, while the role of album art has evolved to meet the changes in music technology, it is hard to measure the effect of digital streaming on modern album art. This research seeks to determine whether or not graphic design still plays a role in marketing information about the music, such as its genre, to the consumer. It does so through two studies: 1. A computer visual analysis that measures color dominance of an image, and 2. A mixed-design lab experiment with volunteer participants who attempt to assess the genre of a given album. Findings from the first study show that color scheme models created from album samples cannot be used to predict the genre of an album. Further findings from the second theory show that consumers pay a significant amount of attention to album covers, enough to be able to correctly assess the genre of an album most of the time.

  • The Kingdom of God in the United States C
Word & World 2/2 (1982) Copyright © 1982 by Word & World, Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN. All rights reserved. page 137 The Kingdom of God in the United States C. CARLYLE HAALAND Wagner College, Staten Island, New York I. RETROSPECT In 1937 H. Richard Niebuhr published his The Kingdom of God in America, a work that broke like a thunderclap on the American scene. In it Niebuhr appeared to depart from the view explanatory of the dynamics of religion in the United States previously set forth in his notable and widely received The Social Sources of Denominationalism. To the consternation of those of more socio-economic-political interpretive persuasion, and to the approbation of those inclined to favor the power of ideas, Niebuhr came to argue that it was not just the empirical conditions of human life but also (and especially) key ideas persisting down through the course of time that shaped the religious situation. Further, the idea that possessed the most significant trailing power, Niebuhr contended, was the Biblical motif—the Kingdom of God.1 One may argue that Niebuhr drew too sharp a distinction between the empirical and the ideational in explaining how the religious fabric of the nation was woven. But surely, as an excellent social analyst, he knew that both aspects offered valuable insight into religious belief and behavior. What he wished to accomplish, therefore, was to sensitize the public to a lost element in respect to clarifying the power of religion in the life of the nation. One may argue further that the particular lost element that he seized upon—the Kingdom of God—was merely an influence of the early Neo-Orthodox movement resonating in an arena of inquiry in which it had no business to be.

Bulletin, contact: [email protected] Bariatric Bulletin, Bariatric Patients Should Take Supplements For Eye Protection Obese patients who have undergone bariatric surgery to shed weight should take the supplements prescribed to them to protect their eyes. Taking in too little Vitamin A, in particular, could in some cases actually cause night blindness, dry eyes, corneal ulcers, and in extreme cases total blindness. This advice comes from Rui Azevedo Guerreiro and Rui Ribeiro of the Centro Hospitalar de Lisboa Central in Portugal, who reviewed what little research there currently is on the occurrence of eye conditions following bariatric surgery. The review is published in Springer's journal Obesity Surgery. Three different types of bariatric surgery are performed to help with weight loss in obese patients: restrictive (such as adjustable gastric banding and gastric sleeve), malabsorptive, and mixed procedures (including Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and biliopancreatic diversion) that combine the first two types of surgeries. One of the drawbacks of these operations is that patients can develop nutrient deficiencies. This happens, for example, when patients vomit more often, eat less or develop food intolerances. People who have had restrictive bariatric surgery, for instance, often follow an unbalanced diet which subsequently influences their intake of the correct combination of vitamins and micronutrients.
