Obsahuje také rozhovor se zvukovým inženýrem Johnem Neffem, který se podělil o svoji zkušenost ze spolupráce s Lynchem. The aim is to determine wherein lies – and how major of a role plays – the dominant characteristic of David Lynch’s work, its versatility, as well as to explore how the environment, society, and different fields of art influenced the filmmaker in his own artistic expression through the language of sound. To further help answering those questions, an interview with a sound engineer, John Neff, was conducted, in which he talked about his experience of collaborating with David Lynch on several projects.

Twór- ca Twin Peaks był współautorem so- undtracku do Głowy do wycierania, swojego pełnometrażowego debiutu (a także do kilku następnych filmów). Pisał teksty i produkował utwory dla Julee Cruise i Jocelyn Montgomery. Grał na gitarze w projekcie BlueBob i współpracował z naszym rodakiem Markiem Żebrowskim na ambientowej płycie Polish Night. Przed dwoma laty Lynch wydał solowy debiut zatytułowa- ny Crazy Clown Time. Była to dziwaczna mieszanka rocka, elektroniki i muzyki tanecznej. Teraz muzykujący reżyser powraca z kolejnym albumem. Zgodnie z tytułem, The Big Dream wypełnia oni- ryczna muzyka będąca uwspółcześnio- ną wersją bluesa. Są więc typowe dla tej konwencji sekwencje akordów, są przestrzenne brzmienia wyrazistych gi- tar, jest nawet przeróbka The Ballad of Hollis Brown, starej piosenki Boba Dy- lana. Lynch okrasza każdy utwór swoim nosowym wokalem, który dobrze pasu- je do muzyki. Jest to oczywiście blues w wydaniu białego ekscentryka, toteż ◄ klikaj numer strony, aby wracać do spisu treści album nie reprezentuje tradycyjnej szkoły gatunku i fani B.B. Kinga mogą być zawiedzeni. Z czasem do utworów wkrada się też monotonia. A jednak po The Big Dream zdecydowanie warto sięgnąć, choćby dlatego że w pewnym sensie jest to muzyczny ekwiwalent nie- zwykłych filmowych dokonań Lyncha.
