INDEX Compiled by EMILY TOMPKINS, CAROL THOMPSON, AND JUNE McFARLAND This Index consists of three sections, which appear in the following order: (1) Title Index (in order of appearance) (2 ) Author Index (alphabetical) (3) Keyword Index (alphabetical) T h e title index is a listing of the titles in the order published. T h e author index is arranged alphabetically according to each author’s last name. For papers by more than one author, each author’s name appears in the index in alphabetical order. The appearance of an author’s name followed by the title of an article does not mean that he is the only author of that article. He may be one of two or more authors of the paper whose title follows his name. The author index does n o t show multiple authors in any single listing. T h e keyword index is based on im portant and significant words occurring in the titles, texts, and figure captions. The columns on the right-hand side of the keyword index give the page number and a code number (1 or 3) indicating the nature of the source. The code is: (I) for phrase from title; and (3) for phrase from abstract, text, or caption. The keyword for each entry is located at the left-hand side of the page. All keywords are aligned vertically in this index. The (> ) sign indicates the first word in each title, or key phrase. The (< ) sign indicates the end of the title, or key phrase. To locate a reference, the reader should begin by thinking of the significant words. Then he should look in the index for the keyword entry for each of these words. The reference cedes will direct him to the pages. Pagination is continuous through Volumes One and Two— Volume One contains text pages 1-1226; Volume Two, pages 1227-23SS. 2357 Downloaded from http://pubs.geoscienceworld.org/books/book/chapter-pdf/3840465/9781629812311_backmatter.pdf by guest on 02 October 2021 2358 TITLE INDEX .1 NATURAL GASES OF n o r t h AMERICA) BEEBE B, W., EDITOR, CURTIS B.
