Amending Regulations under the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908- ( Notice No. Ag. 3390.)

URSUANT to the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908 (hereinafter P referred to as '' the said Act''), His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, doth hereby make the following regulations in further amendment of the regulations under the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1900, enuring under the said Act, made on the fifth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and two, and published in the Gazette on the same day, at page 1221 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations ").

R E G U L A T I O N S. I. (1) In these regulations the term "amending regulations" means the regulations made under the said Act on the 6th day of January, 1933, and published in the Gazette on the 12th day of the same month, at page 13. (2) These regulations shall come into force on the date of the publication hereof in the Gazette. . 2. Clause 12 of the principal regulations, as replaced by clause 1 of the amending regulations, is hereby revoked, and the following clause substituted therefor:- " 12. No alterations or additions shall be made to any slaughterhouse during the currency of any license issued in respect thereof except with the approval of the Inspector.'' 3. Subclause (1) of clause 19 of the principal regulations, as replaced by clause 2 of the amending regulations, is hereby revoked, and the following subclause substituted therefor:- " 19. (1) In addition to the foregoing fees there shall be payable in respect of stock slaughtered in an abattoir or meat-export slaughterhouse the inspection fees following, that is to say:- s. d . •, For every head of cattle 0 6 "For every head of calves not exceeding 60 lb. dressed weight 0 O½ "For every head of calves exceeding 60 lb. and not exceeding 100 lb. dressed weight .. 0 1 "For every head of calves exceeding 100 lb. and not exceeding 250 lb. dressed weight .. 0 2 "For every head of calves exceeding 250 lb. dressed weight 0 6 "For every head of swine 0 2 " For every twelve (or fraction of twelve) sheep and/or lambs 0 5 "Provided that the inspection fees payable under this clause shall not be less than £10 in any. month during which the Inspector was employed : "Provided further, however, that notwithstanding anything contained in the preceding proviso, where the slaughter of stock in any meat-export slaughterhouse for the export slaughtering season in any year commences within seven days before the termination of a month, or ceases within seven days after the commencement of a month, and the inspection fees payable in accordance with the scale prescribed in this clause in respect of the stock slaughtered in any such month would not exceed the sum of £10, then, in such case, the fees payable shall be calculated in accordance with the scale prescribed in this clause, but shall not be less than an amount equal to an average charge of £1 in respect of each day on which the Inspector is employed.'' 4.
