Trinity Sunday is the first Sunday after Pentecost when we celebrate the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, the three Persons of God: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. We begin and end our prayers with the Sign of the Cross, perhaps not realizing that the sign is itself a prayer. The sign of the cross is a profoundly Trinitarian prayer that engages the Holy Spirit as the divine advocate and agent of our successful Christian living.

DID YOU KNOW we do 21 things when we make the sign of the cross? 1. Pray 12. Crucify ourselves with Christ 2. Open ourselves to grace 13. Ask for support in our suffering 3. Sanctify the day 14. Reaffirm our baptism 4. Commit the whole self to Christ 15. Reverse the curse 5. Recall the Incarnation 16. Mark ourselves for Christ 6. Remember the Passion of the Lord 17. Remake ourselves in Christ’s image 7. Affirm the Trinity 18. Soldier on for Christ 8. Focus our prayer on God 19. Ward off the devil 9. Affirm the procession of the Son and the Spirit 20. Seal ourselves with the Spirit 10. Confess the faith 21. Witness to others 11. Invoke the power of God’s name 3 Click on the link 21 Things We Do When We Make the Sign of the Cross for reflections on each of these 21 items. Prayer of the Day

God would save mankind (Genesis 5:3–8, 1 Chronicles 1:1, Luke 3:38). Prayer of the Day

May 30 - Prayer for Peace O Lord Jesus Christ, Who said to Your Apostles: "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you," regard not my sins but the faith of Your Church, and deign to give her peace and unity according to Your Will: Who live and reign, God, world without end. Amen.

May 31 - Act of Contrition O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You and I detest all my sins, because I dread the loss of heaver and the pains of hell, but most of all because they offend you, my God, who are all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve, with the help of your grace, to confess my sins, to do penance and to amend my life.

June 1 - The Guardian Angel Prayer for Friends Guardian Angel, Dry their tears if they weep; Watch over those sanctify their joys; whose names you can read in my heart. raise their courage if they weaken; Guard over them with every care restore their hope if they lose heart, and make their way easy and their their health if they be ill, labours fruitful. truth if they err, repentance if they fail.

June 2 - Prayer for Fathers St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste husband of Mary, you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness. But amid the worries of material life your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God's Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over him faithfully as you have done. Pope John XXIII.

June 3 - Prayer to St. John XXIII Dear Pope John, Your simplicity and meekness carried the scent of God and sparked in people’s hearts the desire for goodness. You spoke often of the beauty of the family gathered around the table to share bread and faith: pray for us that once again true families would live in our homes. With outstretched hands you sowed hope, and you taught us to listen for God’s footsteps as he prepares a new humanity: help us have a healthy optimism of defeating evil with good. You loved the world with its light and darkness, and you believed that peace is possible: help us be instruments of peace at home and in our communities.

Prayer of the Day

With paternal gentleness you gave all children a caress: you moved the world and reminded us that hands have been given to us not for striking, but for embracing and drying tears.

Pray for us so that we do not limit ourselves to cursing the darkness but that we bring the light, bringing Jesus everywhere and always praying to Mary. Amen.

St. John Paul, from the window of heaven, grant us your blessing! Bless the church that you loved and served and guided, courageously leading it along the paths of the world in order to bring Jesus to everyone and everyone to Jesus. Bless the young, who were your great passion. Help them dream again, help them look up high again to find the light that illuminates the paths of life here on earth. May you bless families, bless each family! You warned of Satan’s assault against this precious and indispensable divine spark that God lit on earth. St. John Paul, with your prayer, may you protect the family and every life that blossoms from the family. Pray for the whole world, which is still marked by tensions, wars and injustice. You tackled war by invoking dialogue and planting the seeds of love: pray for us so that we may be tireless sowers of peace.

Oh St. John Paul, from heaven’s window, where we see you next to Mary, send God’s blessing down upon us all. Amen.
