Chuck Berry was the original brown-eyed handsome man. People around the world as- sociate America with his mu- sic and all that came after. He defined “Americana”, a term that’s been hijacked to only include music that’s related to folk or country mu- sic. I bet there isn’t a guitar player alive who hasn’t played “Johnny B Goode”, whether it was , or teenagers playing in their first base- ment band. When Chuck Berry passed away on March 17th, 2017 at his St. Louis home, I read numer- ous accounts of people who immediately passed judgement on his legacy, telling us their ver- sion of the gospel truth. Wow, here we are in April with May just around the corner. The festival season starts with the Beaver Creek Blues and Brews The Colorado Blues Society was formed to create a greater and the Brighton Blues blast.
