Rosedale Premiership Match day 9 ======

Fjortoft's Friends - Mishima Zaibatsu 0 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Devil Jin (72.) The most likely result of this slow game was a draw, but Mishima Zaibatsu were lucky and scored on one of very few chances.

Ladida FC - Twin Peaks Owls 0 : 0 The home team were a little stronger in this one, mostly due to the support from the home crowd. However, both teams were inefficient enough to not score any goals at all.

First Men of Rome - FC Asskickers 2 : 1 Scorers: Damiano Tommasi (83.) ***Mark Henry (80.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: Franco Sensi ***Jerry Lawler FC Asskickers picked the right strategy to dominate this away game against the Toga Boys, but the home team had the help of both Lady Luck and the referee, and somehow kept both points.

Famous Battles - The Ages 0 : 0 Famous Battles were a little stronger in this one, but couldn't make that a win. So whereas money does not play football, it seems the Ages get by rather well anyway!

FC Mokum - Dummys 1 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Van Dik Hout (12.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Doe Maar A strange match. FC Mokum picked the perfect strategy and dominated gameplay completely, only allowing a single shot on goal. Then that single shot became a goal, while they wasted a lot of chances themselves. Thankfully for them, the referee intervened and let them save one point.

Blue Revolution - Extreme 7 : 3 Scorers: Kunihiko (53., 56., 89.), Kazuya (42., 85.), Kyushichi (41.), Kanjiro Sato (70.) ***Robben (14., 75.), Robson (59.) Blue Revolution remain rock solid at home, here against Extreme who have yet to take any points this season.

Rosedale Premiership Match day 10 ======

Extreme - Fjortoft's Friends 2 : 2 Scorers: Robben (17.) ***JanAage (20.), Webbi (27.) Penalties: 1 (1 missed) ***- (1 missed) Booked: Giggs ***Berger, Zico And there it is, Extreme's first point of the season! Their visitors Fjortoft's Friends were somewhat stronger, but due to the home team's better strategy and home advantage, it was almost even, and the draw wasn't too undeserved.

Dummys - Blue Revolution 1 : 2 Scorers: Dennis (70.) ***Kenichi (31., 74.) Booked: Dennis, Krezip ***--- Ouch! Dummys should have won this one, or at the very least gotten a draw, since they were stronger and fought harder for the points. However, Blue Revolution were luckier and stole both points.

The Ages - FC Mokum 1 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Ricardo Reis (68.) Penalties: 1 ***- An almost exactly even match after FC Mokum picking the better strategy. In the end, the Ages needed some referee help to get their deserved point.

FC Asskickers - Famous Battles 4 : 1 Scorers: Booker T. (36., 52.), Chris Jericho (49.), Mark Henry (39.) ***Desert Storm (70.) Booked: --- ***Endor, Jena Well, you have to hand it to the Famous Battles - they really tried in this one. However, FC Asskickers had picked a better strategy, and controlled the game throughout nevertheless.

Twin Peaks Owls - First Men of Rome 4 : 0 Scorers: Kumanosuke (12., 63.), Jean Renault (76., 84.) ***--- Penalties: - ***- (1 missed) Booked: Dick Tremayne, Ed Hurley, Jean Renault, Lawrence Jacoby ***Roberto Pruzzo The Bookhouse Boys found the strategy to completely bulldoze the Toga Boys, and fought hard enough that the win was almost guaranteed. Well done.

Mishima Zaibatsu - Ladida FC 2 : 0 Scorers: Devil Jin (53.), Jack 5 (42.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Nicky Another win for last season's champions - they're really picking up speed now. Will they manage to win again?

Lexington League Match day 9 ======

Al Rassan United - Sleep Wanderers 2 : 11 Scorers: Catriona (4.), Alessan (14.) ***Chantal (6 goal$s), Pharamond (36., 70., 80.), Zelda (13., 18.) Sent off: Lisseut (27.) ***--- With a lucky point for Trion, Sleep Wanderers turned a virtually even game into a veritable goalfest. About a fifth of a goal separated the teams on paper - on the field, that became nine!

Gamblers United - Tamriel Athletic 4 : 1 Scorers: Stephanie Strongpoint (65., 72.), Sonya Scorer (49.), Felicia Ferocious (13.) ***Urbul gro-Orkulg (24.) Sent off: --- ***Nag gro-Rush (24.) A relegation zone match where Gamblers United showed that they're of a different caliber than fellow strugglers Tamriel Athletic. It's still a way to go to safe ground, but maybe they can make it? There's many matches to go...

Kremlin - Sheffield Thursday 2 : 0 Scorers: Tove Smaadahl (24.), Karisma Veggimellom Horheim (46.) ***--- Kremlin had figured out the right strategy, denying the Owls any shots on goal at all. A rather easy win for them.

G.I.D. - Dead Dino Storage 2 : 9 Scorers: Emptiness (12., 50.) ***Black Bonzo (19., 42., 63.), Marillion (30., 39., 50.), Tad Morose (76.), The Third Ending (15.), Titus Edge (86.) Booked: --- ***Valheista Kaunein Dead Dino Storage again show why they're in the promotion zone - with yet another sound away win.

Erkrath Gladiators - Car Park Rangers 1 : 0 Scorers: Michel Prinz (78.) ***--- Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Monique The Powers had figured the Lunatics out, and limited the home team to a single shot on goal. However, that became a goal, and the referee even gave the hosts a penalty for good measure.

Desassossego Blues - Springfield United 1 : 0 Scorers: Ricardo Reis (49.) ***--- Booked: Alberto Caeiro ***--- The Blues become the first team of the season to host Springfield United and have any points to show from it. It was an even affair, and probably the best fight any home team has put up against the table toppers. I don't think this loss will prevent Springfield from promoting, though...

Lexington League Match day 10 ======

Springfield United - Al Rassan United 2 : 0 Scorers: Duff-Beer (28.), Apu (14.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Zabira Lion had a rough weekend this round, that's for sure - here they were visiting table toppers Springfield United, and never got much contact as the home team took the lead with two goals early.

Car Park Rangers - Desassossego Blues 1 : 4 Scorers: Monique (59.) ***Alexander Search (8., 12., 85.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Bruce Banner ***--- A very impressive weekend from the Blues, beating two top teams and surging up the table. Their strategy was right, and the Powers couldn't do much to prevent this defeat.

Dead Dino Storage - Erkrath Gladiators 2 : 1 Scorers: Tad Morose (12.), Fates Warning (57.) ***Holger Freimann (83.) Booked: --- ***Daniel Klein A rather even match, but DDS' home crowd carried their team to a narrow one goal win.

Sheffield Thursday - G.I.D. 7 : 1 Scorers: Greg Aquino (6., 82.), Ryan Braun (23., 59.), Vinny Rottino (16.), Joe Dillon (44.) ***Kosuke (1.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Hypersomnia, Nothing G.I.D. keep losing ground both to the other relegation zone teams and to the teams on safe ground. Perhaps they're already preparing for Berkeley?

Tamriel Athletic - Kremlin 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***Per Ostvold (81.), Korekiyo (88.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Clayton, Korekiyo, Roar Flaathen Kremlin have ambitions this year it seems, solidifying their position within the top three with a well deserved away win.

Sleep Wanderers - Gamblers United 4 : 1 Scorers: Foxglove (47., 60.), Kazuki (88.), Pharamond (74.) ***Oystein Djupedal (11.) Booked: Pharamond ***--- Sleep Wanderers' first double win weekend of the season, distancing the relegation race and nearing the promotion race instead. Gamblers, however, have trouble catching up to safe ground just yet.

Berkeley Conference Match day 9 ======Thinkers FC - The Potato People 4 : 7 Scorers: David Hume (20., 45., 78.), Plato (23.) ***Valerie Potato (44., 46.), Harold Potata (23., 77.), Harald Potatis (20.), Baby Potato (10.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Aristotle ***Peach Potato Another match to show that there's a significant difference between top half Berkeley and bottom half Berkeley. Despite Thinkers FC being very good at home , table toppers Potato People got ahead by three goals. the Professors of Jazz - AZ 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***Dembele (60., 68.) Booked: Louis Armstrong ***--- AZ attempted to bring some support from the home crowd, and whereas it didn't work, somehow they managed to win the game anyway - despite Professors of Jazz actually fighting their way to an upper hand.

PSV - Harestua IL 2 : 1 Scorers: Cocu (27.), Simons (39.) ***Tom Solbakken (27.) An impressive result from PSV, beating 2nd placed Harestua, but it was entirely deserved after them picking the right strategy.

Frackers FC - Time Will Tell 10 : 5 Scorers: Fettrik (25., 42., 82.), Billy (40., 90.), Furundan (19., 59.), Maya (70., 73.), Heian (19.) ***Tutnix (60., 71.), Alex (26.), Garnix (36.), Hatnix (81.) The visitors actually had a firm upper hand in this game, but the home team were ridiculously efficient and thus somehow managed to win anyway.

Slartibartfast FC - Saturday Morning FC 0 : 0 Booked: --- ***Hobbes The 2Ds picked the right strategy, and dominated this game completely. However , inefficiency means they still got only one point.

Feyenoord - Call of Cthulhu 0 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Beyond Re-Animator (57.) Booked: --- ***Beyond Re-Animator, The Shuttered Room Good try by Feyenoord, who managed to get an even game before rough play was considered. However, the Lurking Fear fought a lot harder for it, and thus won out in the end.

Berkeley Conference Match day 10 ======

Call of Cthulhu - Thinkers FC 1 : 0 Scorers: The Shuttered Room (36.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Voltaire A somewhat slow game, albeit not as slow as the scoreline indicates. Call of Cthulhu were best, and although it got a bit more even from the away team's rough play, it was a rather straightforward win.

Saturday Morning FC - Feyenoord 4 : 14 Scorers: Rodimus Prime (71., 79.), Snoopy (5.), Calvin (24.) ***Eddy Pieters Graffland (7 goal$s), Bronkhorst (13., 28., 45., 68., 81.), Gerard Kerkum (3., 61.) Booked: Rodimus Prime ***--- Whoua! Now that's one goal-rich match! But to be fair, the 2Ds deserved a whole lot more than 4 goals... but not enough to threaten the incredible tally of 14 anyway.

Time Will Tell - Slartibartfast FC 3 : 0 Scorers: Alex (5.), Tutnix (74.), Garnix (81.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Oolon Colluphid Time Will Tell get two much needed points if they want to stay in the running for a seat in Lexington next year...

Harestua IL - Frackers FC 4 : 9 Scorers: Apollon Sopa (35., 60.), Reidar Skoien (61., 89.) ***Maya (22., 36., 81.), Fettrik (58., 68.), Laura (9.), Furundan (18.), Billy (77.), Caprica (86.) An almost exactly even match at Harestua Stadion. The away team picked the better strategy, but the home crowd evened that out. In the end, it came down to efficiency, and Frackers FC seemed to score on just about any chance they got.

AZ - PSV 0 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Beerens (57.) Booked: Emanuelson, Jenner, Martens ***Kluivert, Perez PSV remain by far the strongest Smolders team this season, and even became the first team to win away against AZ so far.

The Potato People - the Professors of Jazz 3 : 1 Scorers: Ronaldo Potato (40.), Harold Potata (56.), Baby Potato (77.) ***--- Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Achmed Potah'to ***Louis Armstrong Top team at home against rock bottom - the result was no surprise, for sure.

Kirkwood Showdown Match day 9 ======

Coventry - Fantasy Finale 0 : 1 Scorers: --- ***Barret Wallace (41.) Booked: William Hall ***--- An almost exactly even match between two of the top teams of Kirkwood. Both deserved a goal, but only Fantasy Finale got theirs, and thus they won. Still unbeaten after nine games!

Greensleeves United - Night Owls 2 : 1 Scorers: Charles Pulford (87.), George Collings (18.) ***Spotted Owl (42.) Booked: --- ***Lurker Despite the visitors picking the better strategy and thus getting the upper hand, Greensleeves got the luck Coventry lost, and managed to win despite being underdogs.

Interchangeable Parts - Ergodic Theorems 1 : 0 Scorers: M2 (42.) ***--- The Parts controlled this one throughout, not allowing Ergodic Theorems a single shot on goal. Still unbeaten at home, and with this win, Interchangeabl e Parts climb to second place.

Dispelliarmus FC - NotReallyNewBremenCyberdruids 5 : 1 Scorers: Viviane (22., 56.), Lord Lard (26., 81.) ***Anthony Melchett (78.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Dee A stronger team and a much better strategy from the Wiz Kids, giving them an easy walk to a four goal win.

Sjokoladen BK - Team Tobbi 5 : 2 Scorers: Crispo (1., 30., 38., 54.), After Eight (29.) ***Curveball Cristiano (3., 66.) Sjokoladen get their fourth home win in a convincing fashion, still very much a part of the promotion race! Their table neighbours Team Tobbi were not able to compete.

St. Helens - Fenerbache 2 : 2 Scorers: Tammy Whyilost (22.), Princess (46.) ***Kenji Hayata (74.) Penalties: - ***1 An even battle between the 10th and 11th placed teams. St. Helens got the best start, but Fenerbache deservedly evened the score out in the end. One point gained on 12th placed Cyberdruids for both of them, which might mean both teams are satisfied with this result.

Kirkwood Showdown Match day 10 ======

Fenerbache - Coventry 1 : 0 Scorers: Sami (37.) ***--- Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Insomnia After managing a draw away, Fenerbache picks the right strategy to beat the Sky Blues, taking an impressive win against one of the top teams!

Team Tobbi - St. Helens 4 : 0 Scorers: Paul Red (1., 29.), Roy 'Keano' Keane (55.), Rio Kicksyourass (87.) ***--- Team Tobbi picked the right strategy, and had no problems at all overcoming away-weak St. Helens.

NotReallyNewBremenCyberdruids - Sjokoladen BK 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***After Eight (21.), Smarties (81.) Booked: --- ***Kinder Egg, Koke Sjokolade Sjokoladen keep winning, and again it was a deserved win. Will they go up to Berkeley this season? Ergodic Theorems - Dispelliarmus FC 2 : 0 Scorers: Gauss (44.), Hilbert (82.) ***--- Booked: --- ***Basil Bubblelare, Phoebe Honderstirk Ergodic Theorems are picking up form, here with a strong game in which the Wiz Kids didn't get much play at all. The game got closer from the visitor's fighting spirit, but the home win was never really threatened.

Night Owls - Interchangeable Parts 3 : 0 Scorers: Eagle Owl (43., 86.), Spotted Owl (64.) ***--- The Parts decided that this top match wasn't worth trying in, and the result was one of the clearest wins of the weekend.

Fantasy Finale - Greensleeves United 2 : 0 Scorers: Zell Dincht (70.), Cloud Strife (76.) ***--- Booked: --- ***George Robinson, Thomas Shell The home crowd gave Fantasy Finale the upper hand in this one, and they converted that to a win despite Greensleeves' occasional rough tackles.

13.Rosedale Knockout third round results

Extreme - Famous Battles 3 : 1 Scorers: Henry (60.), van Persie (86.), Kuijt (10.) ***Heligerlee (43.) Booked: Kuijt, van Persie ***Brittain, Desert Storm, El Alamein, Stalingrad, Waterloo A truly hard-fought match for the quarter final seat! The resulting game was almost exactly even, but with Extreme a tiny notch ahead. And that minimal advantage became a two goal win. Congratulations with advancement!

Harestua IL - Erkrath Gladiators 2 : 3 Scorers: Apollon Sopa (48.), Rudi Martinsen (71.) ***Ragnar Huehnerbein (30.), Daniel Klein (86.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Hvard Wien ***Daniel Klein, Holger Freimann Berkeley team Harestua faced off against Lexingtoners Erkrath Gladiators. Some could have expected an easy win for the Lunatics, but Harestua gave them a run for the money. Only in the last 15 minutes did Koehnen's boys manage to turn 2-1 into 2-3.

Mishima Zaibatsu - Twin Peaks Owls 1 : 0 Scorers: King (85.) ***--- Yawn! An incredibly boring match between two Premiership teams, and the winning goal came after most of the fans had already fallen asleep.

First Men of Rome - Al Rassan United 1 : 3 Scorers: Roberto Pruzzo (12.) ***Mazur ben Avren (28., 45.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***1 Sent off: Christian Panucci (34.) ***--- Booked: Damiano Tommasi, Gabriel Batistuta ***Alvar de Pellino, Brandin, Mazur ben Avren The Moes teams have managed to stay in different leagues this season, but they've drawn each other here in the third round. And a robbery it was! Premiership side FMO Rome had the game under control, but with a red card and bad luck against, Lexingtoners Al Rassan United managed to win!

Kremlin - Fjortoft's Friends 1 : 4 a.p. (0 : 0 ot., 0 : 0) Penalties: - ***- (1 missed) Booked: Martin Kolberg ***JanAage, The Stepover Kremlin picked the right strategy, and had the advantage during normal play. However, Fjortoft's Friends managed to survive 120 minutes to 0-0, and then kept their nerves coolest in the penalty shootout. Tamriel Athletic - Dead Dino Storage 1 : 7 Scorers: Inial Sintav (36.) ***The Third Ending (41., 61., 71.), Marillion (10., 34.), Valheista Kaunein (78.), Fates Warning (75.) Booked: --- ***Black Bonzo, The Third Ending Tamriel Athletic didn't find this match worth fighting for, and perhaps that was a rather good call. They were rather far from giving DDS any trouble at all during the game, at least.

Blue Revolution - Sheffield Thursday 1 : 2 Scorers: Kunihiko (25.) ***Ryan Braun (5.), Dave Bush (36.) Booked: Kunitaro ***Carlos Villaneuva, Doug Davis A rather even game, although Blue Revolution had a tiny upper hand in play. The Owls fought harder, though, so it's poetic justice that the team from the level below advance into the quarter finals.

Time Will Tell - FC Asskickers 3 : 7 Scorers: Tutnix (54., 81.), Julio Baptista (44.) ***Chris Jericho (9., 79.), Sting (23., 48.), Kantaro (35.), Bill Goldberg (53.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Alex, Obelix ***Sting The Asskickers never had any intention of letting this become exciting; they started out with a three goal lead and never let their opponents get much closer than that.

14. GM's ramble

I received orders from 47 of the 48 teams this time, although two were after the deadline and thus only got partially processed.

After a stroke of luck in the top match, Blue Revolution has claimed the top spot on the Premiership table with 16 points. Dummys and Mishima Zaibatsu are two points behind. In the relegation zone, Ladida FC (7), Famous Battles (5) and Extreme (1) reside. The Ages are still luckiest in the Premiership, whereas Extreme are still unluckiest.

In Lexington League, we have a leading duo of Dead Dino Storage and Springfield United, both with 16 points. Kremlin follow one point behind. We have three strugglers, and they are Gamblers United and Tamriel Athletic with 4 points each, and G.I.D. with 1 point. Sleep Wanderers are still luckiest, and Gamblers United remain unluckiest.

The Potato People have a nice lead in Berkeley Conference, with their 18 points to Call of Cthulhu's 15 in second place. PSV follow third with 14. Professors of Jazz look hopelessly lost at the bottom without points, whereas Thinkers FC, AZ and Slartibartfast FC all have 7 points. PSV are now luckiest in Berkeley, whereas Professors of Jazz is accumulating a strangely large amount of bad luck.

In Kirkwood Showdown, it seems Fantasy Finale have what it takes. With 18 points out of 20 possible and still unbeaten, they're very likely to end up in Berkeley next season. Night Owls are second with 15, while both Interchangeable Parts and Sjokoladen BK are doing well with their 13 points. NRNBC still hold the last place of doom with two points, now with three points up to St. Helens in eleventh. Fantasy Finale have been luckiest, while Ergodic Theorems remain unluckiest.

Sleep Wanderers are still luckiest of the league system, followed by the Ages and First Men of Rome. Professors of Jazz are still unluckiest, still followed by Gamblers United and Extreme.

The home advantage is still 7 VP. In the next issue, rounds 11 and 12 will be played.

The deadline for issue 7 is Friday, March 7, at 2130 CET.

I expect the deadline for issue 8 to be March 21, since I will be travelling in the near future and am unlikely to finish issue 7 within the next weekend.

I will send out the teams soon.
