South Australian HERITAGE COUNCIL SUMMARY OF STATE HERITAGE PLACE REGISTER ENTRY Entry in the South Australian Heritage Register in accordance with the Heritage Places Act 1993 NAME: Rosetta Head Well and Whaling Station Site PLACE NO.: 26454 ADDRESS: Franklin Parade, Encounter Bay, SA 5211 Uncovered well 23 November 2017 Site works complete June 2019 Source DEW Source DEW Cultural Safety Warning Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples should be aware that this document may contain images or names of people who have since passed away. STATEMENT OF HERITAGE SIGNIFICANCE The Rosetta Head Well and Whaling Station Site is on the lands and waters of the Ramindjeri people of the lower Fleurieu Peninsula, who are a part of the Ngarrindjeri Nation. The site represents a once significant early industry that no longer exists in South Australia. Founded by the South Australian Company in 1837 and continually operating until 1851, it was the longest-running whaling station in the State. It played an important role in the establishment of the whaling industry in South Australia as a prototype for other whaling stations and made a notable contribution to the fledgling colony’s economic development. The Rosetta Head Whaling Station is also an important contact site between European colonists and the Ramindjeri people. To Ramindjeri people, the whale is known as Kondli (a spiritual being), and due to their connection and knowledge, a number of Ramindjeri were employed at the station as labourers and boat crews. Therefore, Rosetta Head is one of the first places in South Australia where European and Aboriginal people worked side by side.

SeaLink is a listed public company in the top 300 on the ASX and welcomes the opportunity to present a report on taxes paid in Australia and the Company’s tax strategy. SeaLink currently has no direct dealings overseas and therefore is limited to one tax jurisdiction. In this respect, we have adopted the recommendations of Part A of the Board of Tax’s voluntary “Tax Transparency Code” (“TTC”). SeaLink is considered to be a ‘medium’ business for the purposes of the TTC because its Australian turnover was greater than $100 million and less than $500 million during the 2016 year. We support the adoption of this voluntary code and believe it provides users with a comprehensive picture of SeaLink’s tax profile. SeaLink has a strong commitment to transparency and compliance from a regulatory and financial perspective and values the principle of being transparent with respect to its tax strategy and compliance. The Audit and Risk Committee has committed to update and review this report and approach annually.

A PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF THE WESTERN BLUE GROPER ON KANGAROO ISLAND By Scoresby A. Shepherd, James Brook and Adrian Brown Reefwatch, c/o Conservation Council of South Australia, 120 Wakefield St, Adelaide, 5000. 30 June 2002 Photo: Adrian Brown A PRELIMINARY SURVEY OF THE WESTERN BLUE GROPER ON KANGAROO ISLAND By Scoresby A. Shepherd1, James Brook2 and Adrian Brown3 1Senior Research Fellow, South Australian Research and Development Institute 2PO Box 111, Normanville, SA, 5204. 3 9 Duffield St, Gawler East 5118. SUMMARY The abundance of the western blue groper (WBG), Achoerodus gouldii, was examined in the nearshore rocky reef areas on the western and northern coasts of Kangaroo Island, which is near the eastern limit of the species’ geographic range. Adult males occupied a home range which at several sites was estimated to vary from 4 000 to 16 000 m2. Females and sub-adults are site-attached and swim in loose aggregations. The use of transect lines of 100 m with which a diver sampled an area of 500 m2 of the substratum with 5-8 replicates was found to be an appropriate sampling strategy to estimate abundance of sub-adult blue groper 20-60 cm size with adequate precision, but not enough for the less abundant juveniles and adults. Densities of juveniles (<20 cm size) ranged from 0.1 to 0.4 per 500 m2 at most sites but were a hundred times higher in a shallow sheltered site at Penneshaw. Sub-adult densities ranged from zero to 5.7 per 500 m2 and tended to decrease with increasing distance from the western end of the island.
