International School of London Qatar (ISLQ) recently celebrated Qatar National Day. The event was organised by Ahmed El Hadidi. The event featured various cultural activities, including a majlis to welcome the community, a museum of Qatari artefacts, variety of Qatari national dishes and a display of a camel and Qatari falcons. The assembly was led by Abdulla al- Dahneem and Sheikha al-Kubaisi, students at ISLQ. The event kicked off with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an, which was followed by a poem about Qatar, music and traditional sword dance. The event also featured a dedicated section to support national products, including Baladna, Al Baladi Supermarket and Agrico. The event also included a fashion show by the staff members of ISLQ, showcasing the traditional Qatari clothes. “This year we welcomed a larger crowd who joined us in the celebration. We are grateful to our students, parents and the ISL Qatar community for being a part of the school’s National Day celebration. We’d also like to thank Qatar Museums Authority for providing us with beautiful art and handicrafts.” said Ahmed El Hadidi.
