THE MATINS OF PASCHA THE PROCESSION

The Priest censes around the altar three times while the clergy and male choir members who have gathered behind the altar quietly sing “Thy Resurrection.” Each time they a bit louder . The third the is sung, the Royal Doors are opened. The full choir, now positioned in the center of the Church, joins in at “enable us on earth . . . “ to finish the hymn.

After censing the Gospel book, the icons and the banners, the choir and all the people, the celebrant signs the doors thrice with his censer in the form of the Cross, then turns to the people and exclaims in a loud voice:
