DATE: June 23, 2015 For Immediate Release Contact: Nikki Warner Director of Communications [email protected], (719) 477-1870 x. 105 MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYERS ALUMNI ASSOCIATION BRINGS LEGENDS FOR YOUTH BASEBALL CLINIC AND CELEBRITY SOFTBALL GAME TO READING, PA Event to feature Dickie Noles, Andy Ashby and other MLB Alumni Colorado Springs, Colo. – Local youth will have an opportunity to play with their big league heroes at the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) Legends for Youth baseball clinic on Thursday, June 25th, 2015. The free baseball clinic features Major League Baseball players who will teach baseball skills, drills and life lessons for approximately 200 local youth ages 6 – 16. The Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association and the Big Vision Foundation will also host a celebrity softball game featuring former Philadelphia Phillies, MLB All-Stars, World Series champions and other alumni players. The event will also take place on Thursday, June 25th. Alumni players attending* the event include 1980 Philadelphia Phillies World Series champion Dickie Noles, two-time All Star Andy Ashby and 2000 Team USA member and Olympic gold medalist Rick Krivda. Also attending the event are Shawn Barton, Howie Bedell, Frank Bolick, Doug Clemens, Chuck Goggin, Bob Kaiser, Derrick May, Garrett Stephenson, Rich Surhoff and Jay Witasick. The clinic and celebrity softball game will take place at the Big Vision Sports Complex, located at 1098 County Welfare Road, Leesport, PA 19533. The clinic will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Alumni players will train at stations including pitching, catching, baserunning and life skills. Registration will begin at 10:00 a.m. The morning will conclude with an autograph session for children in attendance. To register for this clinic, please visit www.baseballalumni.com.
