Iger wrote, “There’s a revolution happening right now in dirt competition: side-by-sides. Interest in UTV racing has skyrocketed over the past few years and the motorsport industry has responded in turn, providing unprecedented accessibility for those eyeing the jump from enthusiast to competitor.” Donald Jackson, Best in the Desert Race Operations Manager said, “Echoing the thoughts of PRI, Best In The Desert is expanding the opportunity for UTV racers to live their adventure with us and compete in 2019 with the addition of two new classes to our UTV ranks.” BRAND NEW CLASS R900 - PRO RS1 UTV We are offering a Brand new class for 2019 – PRO RS1. This class will create a place for the Single Seat UTVs to compete. The RS1 number designation will be R900. Photo by RnR Photos UTV RALLY SPORTSMAN CLASS We are making our UTV Rally Sportsman Class a class of their own. In 2018 they raced against our sportsman class, but for 2019 we want them to have their own class and they will be U900. The Rally Class will have a four race series, Parker “250”, Mint 400, UTV World Championships and Laughlin Desert Classic Night Race. There will be a Class Championship awarded for the 2019 Season! SPORTSMAN UTV CLASS Sportsman UTV Class is moving numbers and will now have their own number as well: S900. In 2018 they were 2951-2999. PRO UNLIMITED UTV Pro Unlimited UTV is expanding numbers, and is now open to all 2900 numbers. PRO TURBO PRO TURBO is seeing a number change for 2019 as well. They will now be T800-999. All current Pro Turbo racers will be required to add a “T” to their current numbers for 2019. All current racers will keep the same number from 2018 they just need to add the T.
