About Group Evs @ Jeff Aim and Objectives of the Evs ABOUT GROUP EVS @ JEFF The project will enable 15 volunteers from 6 different countries to spend 1 month in Koper, Slovenia. Participating organisations are Omix Ribadavia Spain (2 volunteers), INVOLVED NGO Estonia (3 volunteers), Vereniging Loesje Netherlands (2 volunteers), CESIE Italy (3 volunteers), ÚTON" Ifjúsági - Kulturális Egyesület Hungary (3 volunteers) and Loesje e.V. Germany (2 volunteers). The volunteers will be trained by professional trainers and mentors to use innovative multimedia, web and newspaper communication tools working on a practical festival case. Knowledge gained by the volunteers will not be aimed only for production of quality communication products, but also the dissemination of this knowledge base, which provides the raise of the qualitative level of the production and contents. The overall purpose of the project is to promote and upgrade the use of innovative communication tools as a method to promote and communicate activities and projects of the organizations in order to achieve better the set objectives in youth organizations. The project will be carried out before and during the JEFF – Jazz Ethno Funky Festival, which will serve as a platform for contents, offering large movement of people, performers, culinary heritage and ideas. AIM AND OBJECTIVES OF THE EVS Our aim is to increase active participation of young people by developing competencies (knowledge and skills) in creative usage od communicating tools like multimedia, blogs and print paper and use it as tools for properly promote and reflect youth (cultural) projects. The moto is The promotion of reflection . Specific objectives of the project are: • To offer the substantive and technical competence and tools for creative promotion and to learn how to use the tools for active participation, • To promote ways of active participating of young people by giving them possibility to express their point of view, • To encourage development of values and virtues that enrich the personality, such as: activity, autonomy, innovation, creativity, patience with the communication, cooperation and sense of community work, • To develop solidarity and promote tolerance among young people and to strengthen mutual understanding between different cultural and social backgrounds, • Through the products of the project to encouraged the local authorities and the general public to contribute in reducing social disparities. VOLUNTEER PROFILE Highly motivated young people with basic skills in film, multimedia, design or photography. Age: 18-30. 8 SOME INFORMATION ABOUT JEFF - JAZZ ETHNO FUNKY FESTIVAL WWW.JEFF.SI Festival JEFF is a part of summer evening for ten years and throughout the year it is maturing into referential jazz, ethno, funky festival for the region. The structure of the festival remains the same and is unique for the place, because the events happen weakly in July and August. Many visitors decided to be a part of JEFF and also known performers, such as: Vasko Atanasovski, Perpetuum Jazzile, Kelvis Ochoa (Cuba), Terra Folk produkcija, Kisha, Bratko Bibič, New Swing Quartet, Fake orchestra, Olivija, D jembaši, Dazhbog ensemble, Caña Flamenca, Ansasa Trio, Aritmija, Aljoša Jerič, Ratko Dautovski (Makedonija), Vocalissimo, Greentown Jazz Band, Areia, Ethnodelia, Die Resonanz (Austria), Kaneo, Sedef, Nino Mureškič, Caminoigra and many others. Each year the festival offers versatile accompanying programme. Traditional Istrian corner enables the public interaction with local eco producers and their products and additional workshops (like Getting to know the vine and Loud thinking of Butal'man about accordion and cultural things in general in 2012) provide strong cultural heritage reference . From the beginning the JEFF Festival collaborate with the Italian Community "Santorio Santorio" Koper, the organisation that represents the Italian minority in the Municipality of Koper. The festival and its music are a meeting point and a point of integration between different people, old and young, with different nationalities and musical knowledge. During the one month EVS service volunteers will be trained on the field of multimedia, communication, project management. We will test various techniques of independent reporting about the cultural event and its contents and thus we will learn the skills that are necessary for effective reporting about youth organizations cultural and other themes. At the same time, volunteers will be given an opportunity to select own field of interest and develop concrete products in service of the festival: it can be a documentary about traditional music of the region, a journalistic report of the festival bends, a promotional campaign of the festival for the tourists, ... ABOUT THE VENUE (ACCOMODATION, FOOD ARANGEMENTS) Volunteers will be placed in an old city centre of Koper. ABOUT KOPER: Carved grey Istrian limestone, eight squares situated at the outer edge of the town covered with a carpet of white stone, eleven other squares, remnants of an ancient city wall, narrow intertwining streets leading to the main square, boasting the largest cathedral in Slovenia - all this narrates the story of the past and of the present moment. Step by step the facades of the buildings and their interiors reveal the millennial history of Koper, once Iustinopolis, Capris, evoke the era of the Venetian Republic, the golden age of the Gothic and Renaissance - up to the present moment. The old centre is a great location because everything is close and you will really be able to endulge into festival spirit. At the same time, it is good to let the volunteers know in advance that the accommodation will be modest and basic (small kitchen, small room that will be shared by the participants). Palestinians have little chances in advocating their political agenda due to their limited freedom of movement and the one sided media coverage on the region. By educating tourists Palestinians try to make their story heard. Therefore, in the Oslo Peace Process with Israel, tourism was meant to play a leading role – as an instrument for peace – and regional tourism was expected to valorize regional exchange and sharing. However, Israel tries to stop any tourism development in Palestine for economic and political reasons. This research focuses of the everyday reality of the still ongoing tourism industry on the West Bank of Palestine. For this thesis I conducted a fieldwork, research period of three months on the West Bank. Through participant observations and qualitative interviews I have tried to grasp this social reality looking at both the tourists and the Palestinian hosts. In this paper I argue that tourism in Palestine is to be understood as a form of everyday resistance.

The mid-term evaluation is essential for risk prevention and crisis Upcycling management and it thus facilitates conflict resolution — if necessary! In addition, workshop volunteers share positive experiences and increase their motivation. The evaluation provided the opportunity to learn from everybody’s ‘ESC story’ and enables the volunteers to plan developments and/or further improvements in their service and to think about what they will do in the longer term, once their period of service is over. The evaluation should also raised awareness of the personal learning process, linking it to the key competences of the Youthpass. Overall, the mid-term evaluation should offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere so the volunteers feel comfortable sharing experiences and saying whatever is important for them. Although the volunteers had very serious reflection sessions during the day, in the evening they had a lot of bonding time. An informal communication with each other is also very important - it helps with sharing various event, activity ideas, tips and experiences. These were tested in real environment in Lithuania & Latvia throughout summer and autumn of 2017 (as activities of a wider Erasmus+ project “Together: Refugees & Youth” (TRY)). Publication is a product of: 1) research on the feasibility of integration through youth work2; 2) a corresponding training event for Latvian & Lithuanian youth workers3; and 3) a previously created methodology4 for 64 integration events in Latvia & Lithuania. It not only lists activities for such refugee integration, but also regards how to: Every separate activity/action/method has a brief description on what it is and how it was implemented. It also gives tips & recommendations (for implementation) where and when applicable. In addition, the descriptions tell about the venues used, recommended number of people and anything else of importance (such as the amount of time required & whether it helped the integration much – in 5-star ratings). If available, every activity also provides a testimonial from the participant, as well as press releases, links & photos. The report also states that it is of key importance to properly organise and coordinate the activities.     Polish Pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2021 PROLOG +1 Although rural areas make up 93% of Poland’s territory, only 40% of the population lives there. This data is an accurate reflection of worldwide trends. Engulfed in spatial chaos, having so far remained on the sidelines of architectural interest, the countryside has become the subject of the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion at the Biennale Architettura 2021. PROLOG +1, authors of the Trouble in Paradise project, in collaboration with an international ensemble of architects and artists, will show that in times of growing local and global crises, rural areas can be the answer to a worldwide ecological or housing problem. Biennale Architettura 2021, postponed by a year, will open on 22 May. On the opening day of the exhibition in the Polish Pavilion, a digital version of the project will launch online at labiennale.art.pl. The exhibition in the Polish Pavilion is organised by Zachęta — National Gallery of Art in Warsaw. We have had to wait for three years for the opening of the 17th International Architecture Exhibition — the 2020 edition of one of the most prestigious events in the world of architecture was postponed by 12 months due to the pandemic. In light of the events of the past year, the theme of the biennale could not be more topical. 63 national teams from around the world had to face the question ‘How will we live together?’ Presented in the Polish Pavilion, the Trouble in Paradise exhibition is a multi-threaded story about the future of communal life in the countryside, accompanied by a thorough analysis of the forms of work and life in these areas.

The non-formal education they found as a perfect way to learn new skills, gaining new knowledge and increasing the awareness of the refugees and the surrounding societies about the importance of multiculturalism and European values. This project is created as a platform for youth workers who work directly with refugees, to exchange, build and develop tools and methods that will transfer to the refugees by organising workshops with them, according to the situation and interest in the camps or other surroundings where they work. PARTICIPANTS PROFILE The participants needed for this project are youth workers who are directly involved in work with refugees, in one way or another. They come from a diverse range of backgrounds, but most are young people who are engaged in their surroundings, to improve conditions, raise awareness and activate their communities. The youth workers must have some experience with work with refugees and to be able to contribute in the project based on their experience.

As the first institution of the EuroMediterranean Partnership, it has responded since its creation in 2005 to the ambitious mandate given by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the region to promote closer human, cultural and social relationships between the people of the region. First and foremost, I would like to extend a warm and sincere thank you to the Member States of the EuroMed region and the European Commission that have trusted and entrusted the Anna Lindh Foundation, ensuring throughout its institutional life the needed political and financial support. I would like to recognize the value of the collaborations established with the UFM, UNESCO, League of Arab States, CMI and World Bank, the UNAoC, OCDE, OSCE, British Council, Club de Madrid, Unimed, Copeam—to name only a few of the partners who made it possible for the ALF to ensure long-term impact, reach and quality of its action.
