Meeting called to order at 7:30 pm

Co-President Rick Staples chaired meeting • Errors or omissions on the minutes of June 8, 2010 (1) Under Fundraising Convenor – amount received from the Chamber of Commerce Legacy Fund should be $220 not 205 (2) The Motion to Adjourn should have been recorded as Brian Taylor not Steve Oldridge • Business Arising from the Minutes of June 8, 2010 (1) Mike Reynolds is willing to take on the position of Privacy Officer. He will look into the recent changes and see if he can put a package together to be brought to the executive. A copy of the FFDMHA Privacy Policy will be made available to him for review. (2) Rhonda Scarlett has distributed flyers to the local schools and placed an ad in the newspaper to run twice, regarding interest in a House League. There have been 4 responses so far (8 skaters).

Co-President (Steve) • Craig Shanks at the City of stated that SLMHA will be given an additional one year extension on the tender for the canteens in both Fenelon Falls & at a monthly rent of $250/month each • Fenelon to pay half month rent for September (as in past) • Bobcaygeon rental payments to start October 1 st

Co-President (Rick) • The last boundary meeting has taken place • All centers have agreed & map is being drafted for signature • Rick will send boundary description to OMHA for our centre • Highland Storm have agreed but still waiting for Lakefield

First Vice President (Joe) • Mark Davies is willing to help obtain sponsors. He suggested taking a new sweater (if available) and information on the new association to show potential sponsors

Second Vice President (Dave) • Marc Berube has given him the disk with the sponsor information from last year • Will review & suggest any changes then give to Joe Barrieau for approval prior to sending out • SLMHA should send a letter to Three Counties to advise them formally of the amalgamation • Presented copy of Supplementary Letters Patent

MOTION by Dave Gowanlock SECOND by Brian Taylor A notarial copy of the Supplementary Letters Patent amending the name of the corporation to Minor Hockey Association, be kept on file with the Secretary & included in minutes Carried • Dave presented a bill for legal expenses involved with the incorporation in the amount of $416.25

Registration Director (Michelle) • 202 players have been registered in HRC • 11 more registrations were received at the beginning of this meeting • couple of players not previously in the system • Brianna Landry would like to play PeeWee this season not Bantam. Chris Dowell should write a letter to Three Counties making this request • Some players who were not able to make the year end banquets are requesting a sweater • Has received phone calls about cheques not cashed • All players who were registered early even though payment not received yet will get early rate • There are 7 players wanting to play Juvenile but no money has been received to date. It was agreed there should be a minimum of 12 registered players and 1 goalie before registering a team

MOTION by Joe Barrieau SECOND by Brian Taylor The seven players interested in a Juvenile team be requested to pay $500 now and that it be fully refundable by August 1 st , 2010 if a Juvenile team is not registered Carried

Secretary (report given by Sandy Lees in Shauna’s absence) • Mouthguard Clinic (Kathy Allan) has been booked for September 7 th & 18 th in Fenelon Falls • The photographer, Andrew Oxenham says the dates are fine for him and that he will do the midgets and/or bantams at night if required

Treasurer (Sandy Lees) • Bank required copy of FFDMHA Letters Patent along with the Supplementary Letters Patent. Dave has obtained a copy and the bank accounts should be opened this week • Sandy reported the cheques that had been written since April 30 th .

OMHA Rep (Kirk Kimble) • Attended OMHA AGM along with Rick Staples • OMHA approved our amalgamation in principle (pending boundaries) • OMHA has also approved in principle the amalgamation of Beaverton & Cannington • Regarding the Decision Paper “Made for ” – there is nothing new. Over the next year there will be regular updates on the OMHA website & there will be a presentation at next year’s AGM • Player movement – if a player tries out for AAA and does not make the team, they can then try out for AA or A, but if not successful they must then return to their home centre

Three Counties Rep (Chris Dowell) – absent – no report

Referee-in-Chief (Greg Henderson) – absent – no report

Ice Convenor (Brian Taylor) • Will confirm tournament dates with Teresa • Attended user meeting June 15 th – gave some ice in March to Bobcaygeon Figure Skating Club • Christine Long (booking clerk at City of Kawartha Lakes) has moved on – don’t know who new clerk will be • The upstairs of the Bobcaygeon Arena looks great – when doing renovations some old minor hockey programs were found from 1955 & 1934

Supervisor of Coaches, Managers & Trainers (Vern Sudsbury) • Only coaching applications received are from Dave Prins, Joe Barrieau & Dave Bowland (Mites) • Working on booking a PRS, Trainers Clinic & Development 1 if required – will run PRS & Trainers clinics in Bobcaygeon and PRS in Fenelon • Needs suggestions of people to ask to help picking teams – they must be committed and attend all tryouts • Wendy volunteered top help Vern recruit people

Fundraising Chair (Lori Ann Moffatt) • Will be operating a dunk tank July 31 at Bobcaygeon Midnight Madness  BOM has given $95 toward the rental of the tank and the Bobcaygeon Legacy & Chest Fund has donated the rest of the money required  Has some people booked – the mayor will sit at 7pm. Will contact Phil Baker (principal of Bobcaygeon Public School), Todd Hudson (OPP in uniform), Chris Longo, Aaron Jermyn, Scott Elder, Steve Oldridge & Mike Reynolds  Needs help to man 2 ticket stations and 2 ball stations – 7pm to 9pm and 9pm to 11pm  Needs $300 float for the tank

• Has called Brandy Watson from Fenelon Falls Fair Board regarding manning the food booth at the Fenelon Fair – she has not called back • Need to remind members that they can earn back their $50 fundraising fee by volunteering 5 hours • Lots of fundraising offers come in – should mention them in the newsletters and on the web in case some teams would be interested in them • Rick reported that the Lottery Licence will be renewed in August and will be transferred to the SLMHA – the rep is trying to find a spot in Fenelon to sell lottery tickets on our behalf as well

Tournament Director (Teresa Jenkinson) • Tournament flyers will be printed (400) • $600 has been sent to OMHA for tournament registration • Needs price on hats – finalist & champion • November 6 th tournament in Fenelon will be Atom A & AE • Tournament application & flyer can go on the website when flyers are done

Communications Director (Jay Allen) • Needs info sent to him to populate the website – dates of mouth guard clinics & times; picture day & schedule when available; and anything other information you want posted • There is an Executive section where the minutes can be posted • Team managers can upload team info • Should have greetings from the Presidents along with picture with new sweaters? • Any ideas, changes or info should be sent to Jay

Equipment Director (Scot Robertson) • Tool boxes for first aid kits have been ordered (20 @ $7 each) • All medical supplies to be donated but would like to purchase multiple tip screw drivers, ice packs, prepackaged mouthguards (to be replaced by user), package of parts for helmets • Will put decal on boxes • Emergency Action Plan to be inserted in boxes as well

Kitchen Director (Wendy Barrieau) • Will close accounts for PST & WSIB • Will meet with Rhonda Thomas & Cindy Marks who have volunteer to help with the Canteens

NEW BUSINESS :

1. Jerseys – need decision on which tender to accept as order must be placed ASAP • Rick Staples & Michelle Elder declared a “Conflict of Interest” • Committee consisting of Scot Robertson, Steve Oldridge , Brian Taylor, Kirk Kimble & Dave Gowanlock reviewed all tenders (7 tenders received and committee presented top 3) • The committee decided not to go with string ties at neck due to mold & they are non-stock items and must be custom ordered • All quotes are priced before taxes & all indicated order would be ready for September 1 st • 600 to be ordered in first year (15 per team) and move them around as needed • staying with standard numbers 1-15

(1) FX Woodbridge – do their own printing - quote includes fully embroidered crest, stop sign & Canadian Flag, # on back (black), Athletic Knit - no number on arm - Price $45 each

(2) Buckeye – Vneck & mesh under arm ($5 discount if no mesh under arm) - quote includes embroidered stop sign & Canadian flag, # on back (2 color block), Kobi - Price $49 - $52 each with screen front ($10-$15 extra for embroidered crest) - Proposed $500 sponsorship rather than have their name on sweater

(3) SLC (Sports Lettering Co) from Scarborough - quote includes fully embroidered patch on front, stop sign and Canadian flag, # on back (jagged), Kobi - Will donate a signed Alexander Ovechkin sweater to auction - Price $41.30 to $42.30 each

• Committee recommends SLC quote • With regard to crest there are 3 types – embroidered, solution (will fade but lasts longer & won’t mold) and screen twill patch (extra $2.55 over embroidered) • Garmet bags are separate (approximately $20 each with logo) • Company to contact Lori Ann for approval on final artwork

MOTION by Wendy Barrieau SECOND by Dave Gowanlock Sweaters to be ordered from SLC with embroidered stop sign and Canadian flag, 2 color number on back (sewn on), Thunder crest on front (either embroidered or solution patch at discretion of committee upon further investigation). Carried

2. Distribution of logo to Buckeye for clothing orders. It was suggested that once Buckeye is ready for orders, a tab could be put on the website to order SLMHA merchandise with the order going directly to Buckeye

MOTION by Wendy Barrieau SECOND by Brian Taylor To give Buckeye a high resolution copy of the SLMHA logo. Other companies can request copy of needed to fulfill an order. Carried

3. MOTION by Brian Taylor SECOND by Teresa Jenkinson That 40 garmet bags with the SLMHA logo be ordered from SLC . Carried

4. Brian suggested we obtain price on tee shirts and give one to each player at first tryout. MOTION by Brian Taylor SECOND by Scot Robertson That the sweater committee be allotted $1500 to obtain Tee shirts to be given to players at first tryout. Carried

5. Alan Stanley’s house is ready to be sold and his son has asked if SLMHA would be interested in any memorabilia – it would be donated.

MOTION by Wendy Barrieau SECOND by Brian Taylor That we persue this offer of donation of Alan Stanely’s memorabilia Carried

6. Socks - MOTION by Brian Taylor SECOND by Teresa Jenkinson That Scot obtain 3 quotes for black socks and proceed with sock order at the lowest quote. Carried

7. FFDMHA Parent Manual – Brian to email to executive for comments / changes.

8. Lori Ann Moffat requested a return of her $50 fundraising fee paid with registration
