Target date for completion for remaining sections is not fixed. There is huge shelf of ongoing projects but funds are limited which are being distributed to various ongoing projects depending upon progress of projects, priority and other considerations. Thin spread of funds is causing prolonged period of completion of project and consequent time and cost overrun. To augment resources, state governments have been requested for sharing cost of projects considered essential by states for development in their areas. State governments have come forward and presently 37 projects in 10 states covering a length of 5586 km are being executed on cost sharing basis with state governments. (b): Requests are received at various levels and a compendium is not maintained. However, the details of new lines, gauge conversion and doubling proposals received in recent past falling partly/fully in the State of Gujarat and their status is as under: S. Name of the Status No. proposals New Lines 1. Dhangadhara- Survey included in the Budget 2011-12. It is Santalpur not found feasible to take up the survey from Dhangadhara-Santalpur. Therefore, alignment for survey has been changed into Kharaghoda-Santalpur. 2. Palanpur-Ambaji- Survey included in the Budget 2011-12. Abu Road Preliminary activities for taking up the survey have been taken up. 3. Dhanera-Goradu Survey included in the Budget 2011-12. 4. Dhanera-Tharad-Vav- Survey included in the Budget 2011- Suigam 12. Preliminary activities for taking up the survey have been taken up. 5. Bharuch-Dahej-Jambusar Bhrauch-Dahej-Jambusar was an existing narrow gauge line of which Bharuch- Samni Dahej section has already been converted into broad gauge and survey for gauge conversion of Samni-Jambusar section is in progress as a part of Samni-Jambusar-Vishwamitiri and Jambusar-Kavi gauge conversion project. 6. Bhavnagar-Adhelal-Dholera- Survey included in the Budget 2012- 13. Survey for Mundra-Adipur is in progress. 11. Surat-Hazira new rail link. Earlier, an SPV was proposed by RVNL for implementation of this project, for which the alignment is yet to be finalized by the Gujarat government. Further, to develop this line as private line, a proposal has been received. 12. Bedi Port-Jamngar station Survey included in the Budget 2012- 13. As in past one year there are several harrowing and sorrowful Scams like CWG, Adarsh Society, 2G Spectrum and expecting many more to come have hampered the faith in our democracy and thrown the populous voters in wilderness. These are clear indication of deteriorating Indian politics and Politicians. In the event of above scams and frequent disruptions in Parliament LARGEST working and that too at the cost of hard earned citizen’s money by our own elected representatives who are competing hard among DEMOCRACY BUT themselves for making bigger scams.
