Welcome by Group CEO Hello, The Singapore that INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS serves today is very different from the one it was born into towards the close of the last millennium. The geopolitical, technological, social and economic climate has changed significantly and their impact on society has been profound on many levels. In 1996, Google, Facebook and Twitter did not exist. Singapore was one of the 4 revered Asian Tigers averaging GDP growth rates in excess of 7% in the 1990s. This compares to growth rates well below 5% in recent years. In 1996, INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS was offering clinicians the triple test to detect Trisomy 21 with a detection rate of 70%. In 2014, INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS was the first Singapore lab to offer Panarama, a non-invasive prenatal testing (NIPT) for Trisomy 21. Today most of our Obstetricians are offering it to their pregnant mothers at greater than 99% detection rates. Our tools in medicine are much improved. But much more will come. INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS started life just before the dawn of the Asian Financial Crisis and endured a difficult period before finding its place as a boutique medical laboratory provider serving a niche specialist clientele mainly in the CBD. Through the late 1990s and early 2000s, with its SGH heritage and the support of the Singhealth group, INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS was also able to capture several large clients, at one stage providing the in house service for Thomson Medical Centre and the histopathology service for Mount Alvernia Hospital. However, by 2008, the industry had gone through several waves of consolidation and INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS found itself in a difficult position as the smallest community provider with a subscale offering. It was increasingly difficult to compete with its limited service breadth and geographical coverage in Singapore. Serendipitously, Singhealth put INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS up for sale in 2010, and we were fortunate enough to win the bid. But that was the easy part. Our competitors were significantly larger and better resourced. INNOVATIVE DIAGNOSTICS required a major makeover to compete effectively. Over the last 5 years, the team began a process of reimagining, restructuring, rebuilding and rebranding our services that has not ceased to this day. We did not choose the name Innovative. It was thrust upon us. But today, that word is our raison d’etre. The only constant that we know is change. I hope that as a client you and your patients have benefited from the changes we have introduced over the past 5 years. I hope you have experienced them as improvements that has made it easier to care for your patients. Whether it is a new facility, a new test, a new report format, a new way to receive formats, a new accreditation we earned or attending one of our many seminars, talks, appreciation events or community events, I hope what we have tried to do has made a positive difference to you. Together we promise to bring synergistic and complementary skills to providing quality medical diagnostic services to the medical community. Ms. Ginny Foo BSc (Hons) in Food Science, B MedSc, Grad. Dip in Business and Corporate Finance Chief Executive Officer Dr. Christopher Ting MBBS, MBA Ginny brings with her over 20 years of management and operation experience in the Group Chief Executive Officer medical laboratory field. Her experience includes building and leading a highly capable and productive management team, turning a loss making business to the highest Dr. Ting was previously responsible for heading Healthscope’s pathology interest in achieving business entity in the whole organisation as well as in building medical SE Asia. During his 6 years tenure he implemented a number of quality and strategic laboratories that meet international standards. She also has vast experience in initiatives which repositioned the businesses and allowed them to hold market mergers and acquisitions, having gone through a few mergers in her last role as CEO leadership positions in their respective countries at the time of his departure. of the largest private laboratory in Singapore. Dr. Ting also brings unique insights into the healthcare scene in Singapore and Malaysia. He has worked at the Biomedical Sciences Group of the EDB Singapore and has been a lead participant in the healthcare sector within Malaysia’s Economic Transformation Programme (ETP). Mr. Rajkumar Rengaraju BSc in Biomedical Science (Hons), Grad Dip in Business and Corporate Finance Dr. A.J. Matthew Egan MBBS(Hons), BMedSc, FRCPA, MBA Chief Operating Officer Chairman Mr. Rengaraju accquired over 15 years of laboratory experience with Parkway Dr. Egan has over 20 years experience as a consultant Anatomical Pathologist Laboratories, Raffles Hospital and Quest Laboratories. Mr. Rengaraju is now and has held senior management positions in a number of large multi-national responsible for all operations of laboratories run by Innovative Diagnostics. While at Healthscope, he garnered extensive exposure to the pathology markets in Singapore, Malaysia and New Zealand. His key scientific interests are in Urology, Gastrointestinal Tract, Skin and Pulmonary Pathology. Mr. Lim Hock Huat BSc in Medical Science, BSC (Hons) Economics in Management Studies Technical Director Dr Jennifer Teo MBBS FRCPA FAMS Mr. Lim Hock Huat has been leading and managing technical teams in medical Pathologist laboratories for over 25 years. He has a wealth of accumulated experience from Dr. Teo has 25 years of experience in pathology with expertise in neuro-oncology his years at Parkway, Doctorslab and Quest Laboratory where he led their technical and diseases of the nervous system. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and operations as Laboratory Manager. Mr. Lim has a strong interest in refining the pre Surgery degree from the National University of Singapore in 1987.
