Indeed, Social Media (SM) provide undoubted opportunities for fostering firms’ relationships with their customers, and online customer engagement (CE) has become a common objective when developing communication strategies. Although extant literature appear very rich and heterogeneous, only a limited number of scholars have explored which kind of contents, media and posting day would engage tourists on social media. Hence, a relevant literature gap still persists, as tourism companies would greatly benefit from understanding how posting strategies on major social media may foster online CE. The paper investigates the antecedents of online CE in the tourism industry by addressing the posting activities of cruise companies on their Facebook pages. For this purpose, we scrutinize the impact of post content, format and timing on online CE, modelled as liking, commenting and sharing. In particular, we test the proposed model grounding on an empirical investigation performed on 982 Facebook posts uploaded by MSC Crociere (446), Costa Crociere (331) and Royal Caribbean Cruises (205) in a period of 12 month. -

Instagram create new ways to market political campaigns through the displayed images and new channels for candidates and voters to interact. Self-framing displayed enable to present identifiable image for candidates. To explore the role that images play in framing political character and to identify which images received higher levels of engagement, content analyses were performed on candidates’ Instagram account. Political framing identification uses the potential frames character that had previously been carried by Grabe dan Bucy. Grab and Bucy identify images used in the campaign to create a particular political character. The purpose of this study is to describe the representation of Indonesian ideal leader on instagram by using multimodal analysis to understand how Instagram images convey meaning that helps to create those frames. This research concludes with a discussion of the utility of multimodal analysis in understanding campaign images that support the created framing characters. As a candidate, Joko Widodo most frequently employes the ideal candidate frame with subdimensions of statesmanship and compassion. Joko Widodo, as an incumbent candidate, does not show his achievements or symbol of progress as a campaign tool in his image. -

We develop an analytical model in a contract-theoretic setting between an advertiser and an influencer who can inflate her publicly displayed follower count by buying fake followers. There is a non-strategic third party audit which successfully detects fraud with some prob- ability, leading to additional reputational costs for the influencer. We show that the optimal contract exhibits widespread faking which increases with the influencer’s true follower count (type). The advertiser exploits the influ- encer's fraud as a screening mechanism to identify her type. The audit accuracy and penalty from being exposed do not affect optimal faking levels but the in- creased cost imposed by the audit to the influencer gets passed on to the advertiser in terms of higher payments. Our paper illustrates why fake followers are rife in influencer marketing, and how digital marketers can exploit this phenomenon to their advantage.
