IJ sl JI sl/en AI Slovenija ima sloves države z izjemno ohranjeno biodiverziteto in visokim deležem ozemlja, zaščitenega z omrežjem Natura 2000. LA sl AL sl/en AB Slovenia is a country known for its exceptionally preserved biodiversity and high percentage of land protected through the Natura 2000 network. This network protects areas in which animal and plant species wish to be preserved and also habitat types, which are rarely found in Europe or already endangered. One of such areas is Žerjavinski potok (the Žerjavin Stream). I have thoroughly examined and explored the area, conducted a flora and fauna inventory and, based on the learning topics covered by the biology and nature science curriculum in primary schools, determined learning objects. The survey I have conducted in primary schools has shown that pupils wish for more lessons in nature, as there is not enough of such lessons in primary schools. The survey has shown lack of knowledge and pupils’ misconceptions about learning topics covered by the learning objects of the Žerjavin Stream. The Natura 2000 Žerjavin Stream area is suitable for teaching biology and nature science classes in elementary school, as well as developing nature protection responsibility in pupils. In the respective area different habitat types intertwine, potentially suitable for active, experiential teaching in nature, learning objects covering a big share of learning sets and curriculum topics being found within. The area is potentially suitable to become a biology and nature science classroom in the field for elementary schools. For this purpose I have developed a simple teacher’s manual, which would serve as a guide to the educational pathways of the Natura 2000 Žerjavin Stream area. The pupils could therewith gain the possibility of integrated lessons in nature and could get acquainted with environmental issues at an early age, in consequence gaining better understanding of importance of preserving living environments (habitats) with the intention to preserve species. Federico Selvi A critical checklist of the vascular flora of Tuscan Maremma (Grosseto province, Italy) Abstract Selvi, F.: A critical checklist of the vascular flora of Tuscan Maremma (Grosseto province, Italy). — Fl. Medit. 20: 47-139. 2010. — ISSN 1120-4052. The Tuscan Maremma is a historical region of central western Italy of remarkable ecological and landscape value, with a surface of about 4.420 km2 largely corresponding to the province of Grosseto. A critical inventory of the native and naturalized vascular plant species growing in this territory is here presented, based on over twenty years of author's collections and study of relevant herbarium materials and literature. The checklist includes 2.056 species and subspecies (excluding orchid hybrids), of which, however, 49 should be excluded, 67 need confirmation and 15 have most probably desappeared during the last century. Considering the 1.925 con- firmed taxa only, this area is home of about 25% of the Italian flora though representing only 1.5% of the national surface. The main phytogeographical features in terms of life-form distri- bution, chorological types, endemic species and taxa of particular conservation relevance are presented. Species not previously recorded from Tuscany are: Anthoxanthum ovatum Lag., Cardamine amporitana Sennen & Pau, Hieracium glaucinum Jord., H. maranzae (Murr & Zahn) Prain (H. neoplatyphyllum Gottschl.), H. murorum subsp. tenuiflorum (A.-T.) Schinz & R. Keller, H. vasconicum Martrin-Donos, Onobrychis arenaria (Kit.) DC., Typha domingensis (Pers.) Steud., Vicia loiseleurii (M. Bieb) Litv. and the exotic Oenothera speciosa Nutt. Key words: Flora, Phytogeography, Taxonomy, Tuscan Maremma. Introduction Inhabited by man since millennia and cradle of the Etruscan civilization, Maremma is a historical region of central-western Italy that stretches, in its broadest sense, from south- ern Tuscany to northern Latium in the provinces of Pisa, Livorno, Grosseto and Viterbo.

Email: [email protected] Abstract The research presented in this paper had the purpose of Key words inventory and knowledge of spontaneous and subspontaneous plant species of Botanical Garden "Vasile Fati" Jibou, Salaj, Romania. Following systematic Jibou Botanical Garden, investigations undertaken in the botanical garden a large number of spontaneous flora, spontaneous taxons were found from the Romanian flora (650 species of adventive and vascular plants and 20 species of moss). Also were inventoried 38 species of subspontaneous plants, adventive plants, permanently established in Romania and 176 vascular plant floristic analysis, Romania species that have migrated from culture and multiply by themselves throughout the garden. In the garden greenhouses were found 183 subspontaneous species and weeds, both from the Romanian flora as well as tropical plants introduced by accident. Thus the total number of wild species rises to 1055, a large number compared to the occupied area. Some rare spontaneous plants and endemic to the Romanian flora (Galium abaujense, Cephalaria radiata, Crocus banaticus) were found. Cultivated species that once migrated from culture, accommodated to environmental conditions and conquered new territories; standing out is the Cyrtomium falcatum fern, once escaped from the greenhouses it continues to develop on their outer walls. Jibou Botanical Garden is the second largest exotic species can adapt and breed further without any botanical garden in Romania, after "Anastasie Fătu" care [11].
