For Immediate Release Corey Helford Gallery 2/25/2008 presents Los Angeles, CA Korin Faught “TwenTwenty TwoTwo” Opening Reception Saturday, March 22, 2008 from 7 to 10pm Exhibition On View: March 22 to April 19, 2008 Corey Helford Gallery is proudproud to presentpresent “Twenty Two”, a solo exhibition of new works by Los Angeles artist Korin Faught. For her fi rst solo show in Los Angeles, Faught celebrates ingenues and double entendres through a series of oil on canvas paintings and drawings. Twenty two scenes reveal a world of stylish youth, sweet seduction and modern glamour. Faught’s signature neutral palette captures the subtle moods and elegance of her subjects: couples and twins. Pairing the unexpected, “Twenty Two” balances strong narrative and theme with delicate, graceful imagery. Open to the public, the reception for “Twenty Two” will take place on Saturday, March 22 from 7 to 10pm, and the show will be on exhibit until April 19, 2008. Korin Faught was born in Phoenix, Arizona in 1981 and raised in Colorado. She received her B.F.A. from Art Center College of Design in 2004. Faught fi nds inspiration in mid-century modern design, fashion, and white on white. Her work has been exhib- ited at numerous galleries in Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, San Francisco and Seattle, including Merry Karnowsky Gallery, Copro Nason, Gallery Nucleus, The Shooting Gallery and Aidan Savoy Gallery. Located in the Culver City Art District, Corey Helford Gallery was established in April 2006 by Jan Corey Helford and her hus- band, television producer and creator, Bruce Helford (The Drew Carey Show, George Lopez, The Oblongs). Passionate art collectors, the Helfords are producers on the art documentary The Treasures of Long Gone John and have partnered to open their fi rst gallery. Corey Helford Gallery presents a wide range of artists, from members of the new fi ne art movement, such as Andrew Brandou, Natalia Fabia, Korin Faught, Eric Joyner, Brandi Milne, David Stoupakis, and award-winning photographer Chris Anthony, to early Modernist William S. Schwartz. Notable shows include Charity By Numbers, which was co-curated by Gary Baseman and featured an unprecedented lineup of artists including Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Shepard Fairey, Todd and Kathy Schorr, Camille Rose Garcia, and Michael Hussar.
