Presentazione Comitato Promotore E Comitato Organizzatore Italia Presentazione Comitato Promotore e Comitato Organizzatore Italia Roma, 13 novembre 2008 Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup Il Mondiale dei Record Quella del 2009 in Europa sarà la prima Coppa del Mondo a carattere continentale e stabilirà una serie eccezionale di record : vedrà la partecipazione di 22 squadre nazionali, sarà disputata in 7 diversi Paesi e, in particolare in Italia, in un numero di Città mai visto prima. L’obiettivo strategico è quello di mostrare al Mondo, sportivo e non, e al CIO in particolare, le capacità organizzative e la diffusione del Baseball nel Vecchio Continente. La Federazione Italiana Baseball Softball ha già organizzato tre Mondiali a cadenza decennale: 1978, 1988 e 1998. Proprio l’Italia organizzò nel 1988 il primo Mondiale ‘itinerante’ coinvolgendo 11 piazze in 6 diverse regioni, esperienza ripetuta con successo anche nell’edizione di dieci anni dopo. Questo modello si propone quindi come il più adatto anche per la 2009 Baseball World Cup, che coinvolgerà un numero ancora più ampio di sedi, alla luce dei nuovi o rinnovati impianti di oggi. Ogni squadra gioca contro ognuna delle altre: 6 partite per sede (30 partite). Gruppo A – Praga (Repubblica Ceca): Repubblica Ceca, Australia, Taiwan e Messico. Gruppo B – Barcellona (Spagna): Spagna, Cuba, Sudafrica e Portorico. Gruppo C – Stoccolma (Svezia): Svezia, Canada, Corea e Antille Olandesi. Gruppo D – Mosca (Russia): Russia, Giappone, Nicaragua, Gran Bretagna. Gruppo E – Regensburg (Germania): Germania, Stati Uniti, Cina e Venezuela. Le prime 2 squadre classificate di ciascun girone e le 4 migliori terze accedono alla seconda fase. Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup La formula Seconda fase (Round 2) 14-20 settembre 2 gruppi di 8 squadre ciascuno in 2 sedi. Ogni squadra gioca contro ognuna delle altre: 28 partite per sede (56 partite). Gruppo F – Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Haarlem (Olanda): Olanda, prima dei gironi B, D ed E; seconda del girone B; prima, terza e quarta delle terze classificate nella prima fase. Gruppo G – Varie sedi centro-nord Italia Italia, prima dei gironi A e C; seconda dei gironi A, C, D ed E; seconda delle terze classificate nella prima fase. Le prime 4 classificate di ciascun gruppo accedono alla terza fase. Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup La formula Terza fase (Round 3) 22-25 settembre 2 gruppi di 4 squadre in 1 sede: Italia (varie sedi centro-sud, con base Roma). Ogni squadra di un gruppo gioca contro ognuna delle squadre dell’altro gruppo (16 partite). Le classifiche di ciascun gruppo di 4 rimangono separate, ma si ricalcolano sulla base dei risultati della terza fase, per stabilire gli incroci della fase finale. Fase finale (Finals) Italia (varie sedi centro-sud, con base Roma). 26 settembre Sulla base delle classifiche dei 2 gruppi di 4 emerse dalla terza fase: • le squadre quarte classificate disputano l’incontro per il settimo posto • le terze per il quinto posto • le seconde per la medaglia di bronzo. 27 settembre Roma Le due prime classificate disputano la partita di finale. Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup La Coppa del mondo in Italia Delle 106 partite in calendario, 48 sono previste in Italia, il Paese europeo dotato dell’impiantistica quantitativamente e qualitativamente più sviluppata: dei circa 400 impianti presenti in Italia, 100 sono illuminati e 40 di questi rientrano nelle caratteristiche richieste per manifestazioni internazionali di alto livello. Per ospitare incontri della IBAF World Cup 2009 si sono candidate 17 sedi di area centro-nord per la seconda fase e 11 di area centro-sud per la terza fase e le finali. Sono attualmente in corso i sopralluoghi della Commissione Tecnica IBAF al fine di verificare la rispondenza agli standard necessari, selezionare e omologare le sedi, che saranno definite entro il 2008. Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup Le città candidate Seconda fase Bollate (MI), Bologna, Firenze, Godo (RA), Macerata, Milano, Modena, Novara, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia, Rimini, Ronchi dei Legionari (GO), San Marino (RSM), Torino, Verona, Vicenza. Terza fase e finali Anzio, Caserta, Chieti, Grosseto, Matino (LE), Messina, Nettuno (RM), Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Roma, Spoleto (PG). Il ‘Roberto Jannella’ di Grosseto, lo ‘Steno Borghese’ di Nettuno e il ‘Gianni Falchi’ di Bologna Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup Un Mondiale sotto il segno del 5 Il “cuore” del Mondiale 2009 sarà italiano, perché l’Italia ospiterà la maggior parte degli incontri e, soprattutto, la fase finale della rassegna iridata che avrà un respiro continentale. Ma il “cuore” del Mondiale 2009 sarà naturalmente sportivo, anche se attorno all’evento sportivo si è pensato di costruire un progetto a temi di “Mondiale a 5 basi”, cinque come i punti chiave che segnano il campo di Baseball. Come i cinque continenti che saranno rappresentati al massimo livello. Come i cinque cerchi dei Giochi Olimpici che il Baseball, anche grazie al Mondiale 2009, punta a riconquistare nella sessione del Comitato Olimpico Internazionale che si riunirà a Copenhagen pochi giorni dopo la finale di Roma del 27 settembre 2009. Con l’obiettivo di costruire un modello di promozione e di “divulgazione” del Mondiale e del Baseball ad ampio spettro, che vada oltre la mera caratterizzazione sportiva, il Comitato Organizzatore ha ipotizzato di consolidare il progetto con le seguenti 5 iniziative Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup Un Mondiale sotto il segno del 5 La Diplomazia del Baseball Su iniziativa del Ministero degli Esteri italiano, si costituirà un Board degli Ambasciatori del Mondiale nel quale invitare i rappresentanti di tutti i Paesi coinvolti nel grande evento sportivo. Si tratta di una novità assoluta, un’importante opportunità di unione fra Diplomazia e Sport attraverso il Baseball, rappresentando anche un elemento di grande influenza nei confronti dei membri del CIO che saranno presenti, testimoniando con autorevolezza il concetto dell’internazionalità del Baseball, disciplina praticata ad alto livello nei cinque continenti. L’Ambiente del Baseball La caratterizzazione della Coppa del Mondo 2009 come manifestazione a spiccata sensibilità ambientale, sarà certificata dalla definizione di ‘Green Event’ con protocollo ISO 14001 e dall’impegno ad essere un evento a “emissioni zero”. Questa iniziativa, che troverà riscontro in un protocollo d’intesa tra la Federazione Internazionale, il Comitato Organizzatore e i Comitati Organizzatori Locali delle città coinvolte nel Mondiale, mira a coinvolgere in chiave programmatica e di comunicazione anche il Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare e i Comuni italiani nei quali si giocherà. Italia 2009 Baseball World Cup Un Mondiale sotto il segno del 5 I Gusti del Baseball La promozione, attraverso il Mondiale, delle “tipicità” e dei territori italiani è un obiettivo da perseguire anche in relazione al coinvolgimento di oltre 20 città e di 14 Regioni che ospiteranno le partite “mondiali” e che grazie alla Baseball World Cup avranno una qualificata vetrina e importanti opportunità di contatto internazionale. A questo proposito si prevede il coinvolgimento del Ministero delle Politiche Agricole e Forestali e, operativamente, della sua società Buonitalia che ha nella sua missione proprio l’internazionalizzazione dell’agroalimentare e dell’enogastronomia di qualità del nostro Paese in chiave sistemica. I Miti del Baseball In collaborazione con Cinecittà, l’Istituto Luce, una “major” americana e un network televisivo italiano, si collegherà il Mondiale alla grande cinematografia internazionale dedicata al Baseball, che ha prodotto film dal fascino straordinario e sempre vivo. É prevista la programmazione, poco prima della World Cup, delle opere più prestigiose su una rete televisiva nazionale e il coinvolgimento, come testimonial dell’evento, di due star del grande schermo che il Comitato inviterà a Roma in occasione della finale.     Introduction Role of the WHO monographs on selected medicinal plants The first volume of the WHO monographs on selected medicinal plants, containing 28 monographs, was published in 1999. It is gratifying that the importance of the monographs is already being recognized. For example, the European Com- mission has recommended volume 1 to its Member States as an authoritative reference on the quality, safety and efficacy of medicinal plants. The Canadian Government has also made a similar recommendation. Furthermore, as hoped, some of WHO’s Member States, such as Benin, Mexico, South Africa and Viet Nam, have developed their own monographs based on the format of the WHO monographs. The monographs are not only a valuable scientific reference for health authorities, scientists and pharmacists, but will also be of interest to the general public. There can be little doubt that the WHO monographs will continue to play an important role in promoting the proper use of medicinal plants through- out the world. Preparation of monographs for volume 2 At the eighth International Conference on Drug Regulatory Authorities (ICDRA) held in Manama, Bahrain, in 1996, WHO reported the completion of volume 1 of the WHO monographs. Member States requested WHO to con- tinue to develop additional monographs. As a consequence, preparation of the second volume began in 1997. During the preparation, the number of experts involved, in addition to members of WHO’s Expert Advisory Panel on Traditional Medicine, signifi- cantly increased compared to that for volume 1. Similarly, the number of national drug regulatory authorities who participated in the preparation also greatly increased.
