On Wednesday 6th May 2015 Lochaber Rugby Club hosted their Annual Inter School Tag Rugby Tournament, which is run in partnership with Highlife Highland’s Acve School Co‐Ordinators.

The morning started off with the Primary School Compeon seeing over 200 boys and girls take part. The standard of rugby played was really excellent, considering it was a first me for many of the pupils. The winners of the P4‐5 Trophy was Upper Achintore Primary School and the P6‐7 Tournament was won by Mallaig Primary School.

In the aernoon it was the turn of the Secondary School pupils, seeing all four schools in the Lochaber area entering two teams. This made for a really excing tournament with all schools showing great rugby skills. Our coaches also noced a number of good players that they would love to see at our Banavie training sessions. The winner of the S1‐2 Tournament was Mallaig High School.

The event was sponsored again this year by Corpach‐based business Sportsafe UK Ltd. Their Manager Charlie Donaldson was present to hand out the trophies and each winning team was also presented with an extra prize, which was a set of Tag Belts and two rugby balls. We hope they will get put to good use in their schools.

We would like to thank all the schools for aending the tournament, the pupils for being very well behaved, Highlife Highland for their fantasc organisaonal skills and last by not least Sportsafe UK for their connued support to our club.

Our Youth Secon Annual Awards Ceremony will be taking place at Banavie on Saturday 13th June which will be the last day of rugby for our players for this season.
