As a result 101 species were established for the Vitosha Natural Park and twenty two of which were known for the reserve. The species of the park belong to the six Bulgarian subfamilies of Cerambycidae as follows: Prioninae – 1 species, Lepturinae – 34 species, Necydalinae – 2 species, Spondylinae – 7 species, Cerambycinae – 25 species and Lamiinae – 32 species. New larval host plants were defined for 3 species of Cerambycidae as follows: for Rhagium inquisitor – Salix caprea, for Rh. bifasciatum – S. caprea and Prunus avium, for Xylosteus bartoni – Corylus avellana and Betula pendula. key words: Bulgaria, Vitosha Natural Park, Bistrishko Branishte Biosphere Reserve, Cerambycidae. • River Names As a Testament of Cultural Heritage
ONOMÀSTICA 5 (2019): 65–89 | RECEPCIÓ 28.10.2019 | ACCEPTACIÓ 28.11.2019 River names as a testament of cultural heritage (on hydronyms in the Iskar river basin) Anna Choleva-Dimitrova Department of Onomastics Institute for Bulgarian Language, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences [email protected] Abstract: River names are some of the oldest -onyms on record. The article examines 170 river names from the basin of the Iskar river – the largest tributary of the Danube in Bulgaria. The origin and significance of river names emerge through the application of traditional onomastic methods – onomastic (etymological) analysis and onomastic reconstruction. Comparative onomastic data from adjacent and more distant regions in Bulgaria and the Balkans are also drawn on. Conclusions about the relative antiquity of the hydronyms are drawn. Paraules clau: nom de riu, hidrònim, riu Iskar, riu Danubi, afluent d’un riu 1 Introduction Hydronymy is one of the most important branches of onomastics.

All previously known Bulgarian slugs from the Arionidae, Milacidae, Limacidae and Agriolimacidae families have been discussed in this paper. It is based on many years of individual field research, examination of all accessible private and museum collections as well as on critical analysis of the published data. The taxa from families to species are sup plied with synonymy, descriptions of external morphology, anatomy, bionomics, distribution and all records from Bulgaria. It also includes the original key to all species. The illustrative material comprises 118 drawings, including 116 made by the author, and maps of localities on UTM grid. The occurrence of 37 slug species was ascertained, including 1 species (Tandonia pirinia- na) which is quite new for scientists. The occurrence of other 4 species known from publications could not bo established. Basing on the variety of slug fauna two zoogeographical limits were indicated. One separating the Stara Pianina Mountains from south-western massifs (Pirin, Rila, Rodopi, Vitosha. Mountains), the other running across the range of Stara Pianina in the^area of Shipka pass. INTRODUCTION Like other Balkan countries, Bulgaria is an area of Palearctic especially interesting in respect to malacofauna. So far little investigation has been carried out on molluscs of that country and very few papers on slugs (mostly contributions) were published. The papers by B a b o r (1898) and J u r in ić (1906) are the oldest ones.

STOJANOVIĆ2 1Institute for Nature Conservation of Serbia, Radnička 20a, 21000 Novi Sad, Serbia 2Fruška Gora National Park, Zmajev trg 1, 21208 Sremska Kamenica, Serbia ABSTRACT: Determinated of new longhorn beetle material (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) collected on Mt. Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005 has shown the presence of 29 species and three sub- species. Of that number, one species is new to the Serbian fauna, seven species or subspecies are regis- tered for the first time for Mt. Fruška Gora, three species are Balkan endemics, and 10 species or sub- species are rare in Serbia. The presence of Icosium tomentosum atticum Ganglbauer, 1881 in Serbia is confirmed by this entomological investigation. KEYWORDS: Cerambycidae, endemic and rare species, Balkan Mt. Fruška Gora INTRODUCTION Mount Fruška Gora is in many respects (geomorphological, faunistic, floristic, etc.) a special mountain massif. It is cut off from the rest of the Dinarid system and is surrounded by lowland. Since the 1950’s a few researchers investigated the mountain’s entomofauna (ADAMOVIĆ, 1950, 1965; MIKŠIĆ, 1963; ILIĆ, 2005; PIL and STOJANOVIĆ, 2005a, b). Until now 126 cerambycid species were registered on this massif. That number includes some species which were there noted for the first time for Serbia, as well as rare and endemic species. MATERIAL AND METHODS Material was collected on field trips on Mt. Fruška Gora during the period of 2002 - 2005.

Abstract: Nacerdes (Xanthochroa) carniolica peloponesiaca Švihla, 1991 is recorded in Italy for the first time and the biogeographical origin of this new population is discussed on the base of the current knowledge on Coleoptera with trans-Adriatic distribution. The range of this sub- species is revised and some biological notes on the larval food preferences and ecology are provided. • Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae) Auf Dem Asiatischen Festland: Neue Synonymien Und Neue Taxa
©Arbeitsgemeinschaft Österreichischer Entomologen, Wien, download unter www.zobodat.at Zeitschrift der Arbeitsgemeinschaft Österreichischer Entomologen 67: 45–72 Wien, Dezember 2015 ISSN 0375-5223 Die Gattung Exocentrus (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae) auf dem asiatischen Festland: neue Synonymien und neue Taxa Carolus HOLZSCHUH Abstract The genus Exocentrus (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae) on the Asian mainland: new synonymies and new taxa. Exocentrus barbieri PIC, 1950 is excluded from Exocentrus DEJEAN, 1835 and considered as a new synonym of Trichocontoderes setosus (FISHER, 1936). Therefore the former subgenus Barbierexocentrus BREUNING, 1958 of Exocentrus becomes a new synonym of Trichocontoderes BREUNING, 1957. Parasphigmothorax ochreosignatus BREUNING, 1974 is proposed as a synonym of Exocentrus alni FISHER, 1932, therefore Para sphigmothorax BREUNING, 1974 becomes a new synonym of Exocentrus. The following further synonymies are proposed: Exocentrus indicola FISHER, 1932 = E. nigripennis BREUNING, 1957 syn.n., E. granulicollis FISHER, 1932 = E. rufithoraxG RESSITT, 1935 syn.n., E. parrotiae FISHER, 1932 = E. klapperichi BREUNING, 1957 syn.n., E. subglaber FISHER, 1925 = E. bicoloripennis BREUNING, 1957 syn.n. = E. rufolateralis BREUNING, 1963 syn.n., E. fumosus GAHAN, 1894 = E. seticollis FISHER, 1932 syn.n., E. pilosicornis FISHER, 1932 = E. subfasciatipennis BREUNING, 1958 syn.n. = E. ceylanicus BREUNING, 1974 syn.n., E. tessellatus PERROUD, 1855 = E. beesoni FISHER, 1933 syn.n., E. lusitanus (LINNÉ, 1767) = E. ochreoscutellatus BREUNING, 1974 syn.n., E. sublineatus BREUNING, 1957 = E. laosicus BREUNING, 1963 syn.n. = E. rufuloides BREUNING, 1965 syn.n. Seventeen new taxa are described and illustrated: Exocentrus creber sp.n., E. nives sp.n., E. latus sp.n., E. latiusculus sp.n., E. cavipennis sp.n., E.

  • Bugs & Beasties of the Western Rhodopes
Bugs and Beasties of the Western Rhodopes (a photoguide to some lesser-known species) by Chris Gibson and Judith Poyser [email protected] Yagodina At Honeyguide, we aim to help you experience the full range of wildlife in the places we visit. Generally we start with birds, flowers and butterflies, but we don’t ignore 'other invertebrates'. In the western Rhodopes they are just so abundant and diverse that they are one of the abiding features of the area. While simply experiencing this diversity is sufficient for some, as naturalists many of us want to know more, and in particular to be able to give names to what we see. Therein lies the problem: especially in eastern Europe, there are few books covering the invertebrates in any comprehensive way. Hence this photoguide – while in no way can this be considered an ‘eastern Chinery’, it at least provides a taster of the rich invertebrate fauna you may encounter, based on a couple of Honeyguide holidays we have led in the western Rhodopes during June. We stayed most of the time in a tight area around Yagodina, and almost anything we saw could reasonably be expected to be seen almost anywhere around there in the right habitat. Most of the photos were taken in 2014, with a few additional ones from 2012. While these creatures have found their way into the lists of the holiday reports, relatively few have been accompanied by photos. We have attempted to name the species depicted, using the available books and the vast resources of the internet, but in many cases it has not been possible to be definitive and the identifications should be treated as a ‘best fit’.
