At the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival the film received the Best Film award in both Jury and Viewers’ Choice categories, which is incredible. Besides, its lead actor Mahabrata Basu won the Best Actor award in the Popular Choice category, Arghakamal Mitra won the Best Editor and I won the Best Screenplay award. The film will be screened next at Pickurflick Indie Film Festival 2018.

The study comes in response to a request by the Woman Affairs Department at the Directorate General of Family Development to conduct a comparative study of DCEDAW and national legislation. Dr. Rashid Al Balushi, a national expert, will carry out the study. The study aims at activating the final remarks on the 2nd and 3rd national reports on Convention on the Elimination of All Discrimination Against Women, revising the national laws and legislation to ensure that they are consistent with the agreement. The expert will revise the articles of the convention and compare them to similar texts in the national laws and legislations. He will shed light on the areas that are not in line with the articles of the Convention. The expert, who is expected to launch the study, during the Omani Woman Day 2018, will provide solutions to address these areas.
