A vo Latinska Amerika generalite pravea pu~evi. Pino~e vo ^ile duri i go ubi pretsedatelot. I stadioni otvoraa. I eskadroni promoviraa. Da go bara{e Xaferi ova {to go pravat Qub~o i Qube, nema{e da go dobie. No, kojznae, mo`ebi i si go baral. A ovie mu go davaat. 2 Promocijata na generalite be{e vidno razubavena so prisustvoto na ministerkata Ganka. Dosledna na svojot sektor, ministerkata mora{e da se pojavi i na ovoj kulturno-zabaven ~in. Peeme zabavno, peeme narodno... Sekoj so svojot problem. [teta. I sekti. More, Mis Ston ni e vinovna {to Boris ni stana pretsedatel. 5 Ministerot Gruevski se pojavi na 3 januari vo edna banka i zadovolno ni soop{ti deka nema turkanici pred {alterite. [to e naiven. More, kakov minister – pretsedatel da ni stane. Uf mori majko... Ako ve}e Qube go imame za do`ivoten mar{al, najubavo e nikoga{ i da nemame izbori. Bez Qube nema dr`ava, pa toga{ zo{to ni se i izbori. Osven toa, ako go slu{ame premierot, izborite bi ja desta- bilizirale dr`avata. More mol~ete. Dobro {to grabe`ot go izvr{il major. Nema smisla. Neli nî ~eka proletna ofanziva. Red e da znaeme koj }e nî brani. 5 Mnogu ubava rabota se ovie balovite. Osobeno koga na niv ima aukcii. Mo`e da se soberat mnogu pari. Osobeno ako se prodava ne{to {to e nacionalno bogatstvo. Predlagam, ministerot Bo{kovski, kako najgolemo nacionalno bogatstvo, i premierot Georgievski, kako pomalo nacionalno bogatstvo, isto taka, da gi dademe na aukcija.

  • MACEDONIA UPDATE: Challenges and Choices for the New Government
MACEDONIA UPDATE: Challenges and Choices for the New Government ICG Balkans Report N°60 Skopje-Brussels, 29 March 1999 Foreword This latest ICG report on Macedonia was written during March, as the new humanitarian catastrophe in neighbouring Kosovo unfolded and reached a new scale. Because of the recent events in Kosovo and the region at large, parts of this report have been overtaken by new developments. In particular, this concerns issues relating to the amount of aid reaching Macedonia, actions taken to alleviate the refugee situation in Macedonia and, most importantly, the Government’s ability to deal with the increasing number of refugees. Indeed, events in the last few days may well have reached a point beyond the Government’s capacity to respond. On the whole however, the analysis and conclusions of this report are still valid and still merit consideration despite the fact that local and international attention is now focusing on developments in Kosovo and their effect on neighbouring countries. James Pettifer This paper examines the recent historical background to the crisis in former Yugoslav Macedonia, the role of the UNPREDEP force 1993 - 1999 and consider how far post-communist institutional reform has taken place. It outlines the structural crisis in the government and society and inter-ethnic relations and analyses the position and motivations of the main military and political actors. Conflict Studies Research Centre ISBN 1-903584-36-1 July 2001 G98 James Pettifer Introduction Among all the Republics of the second Yugoslavia, FYROM was generally praised by the international community for many years as an example of a fairly successful multiethnic and multicultural state that managed its exit from socialist Yugoslavia without significant violence. It seemed to be a beacon of hope in a difficult region. The Yugoslav Federal Army left the Socialist Republic of Macedonia by voluntary agreement, peacefully, although virtually all equipment was also removed, leaving the new state without any defence force. Under its elderly President, Kiro Gligorov, FYROM had achieved independence in a national referendum from FRY by a large majority in September 1991, and was able to survive the difficult period of the Greek economic boycott that followed and also the serious pressures resulting from United Nations economic sanctions in the 1993 to 1995 period against FRY.

On the occasion spoke Mr. Solana who pointed out that "the main threat for the country's stability is crime, and not the armed conflict anymore, which stresses that the support must be a police one and not military". His estimation was that "the process of stabilization and normalization has reached the point in which the country is in a position to say goodbye to foreign troops". Prime Minister Crvenkovski described Macedonia as a "completely stabilized country in the security sense", whose main priority presently is the economic development and solving social problems. Former Conflict Consequences Repeated disarmament campaign summarized its results at the end of 2003 by informing the public that in the frames of the action for illegal weapon's collection citizens gave 7571 pieces of weapons, 100.000 pieces of ammunition, 1257 pieces and 165 kilograms of explosive, 1001 pieces of accompanying weaponry and 497 meters of wick and cables.
