TOTAL $24,238.45 Overview of Travel and Objectives

Premier Scott Moe and Minister Eyre travelled to Calgary to attend the Global Petroleum Show (GPS) and meet with oil and gas stakeholders. The GPS provides an annual opportunity to not only showcase Saskatchewan’s competitive business climate to the energy sector, but also for Premier and Minister Eyre to meet with and hear from multiple industry leaders.

Objectives of the meeting and reception included: • providing an opportunity to meet with energy companies and industry representatives; • promoting Saskatchewan’s energy and resource sector to companies; • profiling Saskatchewan’s primary and value-added energy sectors and showcasing industry competitiveness in the province to potential investors; • providing a forum to listen to industry concerns; and, • voicing Saskatchewan’s support for the oil and gas industry.

Travel Activity:

During the trip, Premier and Minister Eyre met with various energy companies and stakeholder groups (both individually and together). The trip consisted of meetings with: • Crescent Point Energy, including CEO Craig Bryska and SVP General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Mark Eade. • TC Energy, including CEO Russ Girling. • Husky Energy, including President and CEO Rob Peabody and SVP Corporate Affairs Janet Annesley. • Vermilion Energy, including President and CEO Tony Marino. • The Explorers and Producers Association of Canada (EPAC), including President and CEO Tristan Goodman and EPAC members which included representatives from Crescent Point, TORC Oil and Gas, and Whitecap. • Enbridge Inc., including Executive VP of Liquids Pipelines, Guy Jarvis. • Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP), including President and CEO Tim McMillan and a roundtable of CEOs and industry leaders. • The Petroleum Services Association of Canada (PSAC), including President and CEO Gary Mar and Senior VP Elizabeth Aquin, and a roundtable of PSAC members. • The Hon. Sonya Savage, Alberta Minister of Energy. • Celine Gerson, President of Schlumberger Canada. • Steven Koles, CEO of HiFi Engineering, which included a demonstration of the company’s state of the art pipeline safety technology.

Premier delivered remarks at the Canada Action Rally in Stampede Park in support of Canada’s energy sector. He also delivered an opening speech at the Global Petroleum Show.

The Premier and Minister Eyre also had an opportunity to bring greetings, deliver remarks and network at the GPS Saskatchewan Business Reception, cohosted by SIMSA. Over 150 attendees were present, which provided an opportunity to meet other industry representatives and stakeholders and promote the Government of Saskatchewan’s latest incentive programs and policies to maintain the competitiveness of the oil and gas sector.

Minister Eyre also participated in a panel, moderated by Gary Mar, at the GPS on “Branding Canada as the Most Responsible Producer” alongside industry leaders Celine Gerson, President of Schlumberger Canada and Alex Pourbaix, President and CEO of Cenovus. The Minister also participated in a joint press conference with Alberta Minister Savage and Ontario Minister Rickford on Bill C-69.
