PORT DETAILS: Krishnapatnam Port is being developed as a PPP Project on BOST (Build Operate Share Transfer) basis by Mis. KPCL in terms of the Concession Agreement entered in to with Government of Andhra Pradesh (GoAP). LAND DETAILS OF KPCL: The land details as provided by the PP (enclosed as Annexure -II) are as reproduced as below: Forest land: No reserve forest land is occupied by KPCL. Reserve Forests lands are yet to be handed over by GoAP to KPCL. Salt land: Salt land is yet to be handled by GoAP to KPCL. Land details: Land approved for Master Plan 6800 acres Land sofar handed over by GoAP 4200 acres Land designated for phase I & II 3064 acres Land being used for phase I & II 2273 acres Designated land so far handed over by GoAP 1854 acres Reclaimed land of creek behind berths 219 acres Land requested for designation to MoEF&CC 200 acres 2273 acres IV. ENVIRONMENT MANAGEMENT MEASURES: PP is periodically undertaking the necessary environmental monitoring for ambient air, noise, marine water ecology and sediments, marine water turbidity, ground water, soil for different environmental quality parameters through a NABL accredited and MoEF&CC approved agency. The monitoring reports are being periodically submitted to the Regional Office of the MoEF&CC. The results of monitoring provided during the visit shows that they are complying with the norms. The environmental management measures being followed by the PP are furnished under:- Ambient Air Quality: • Installed and operating Mechanical Dust Suppression System with 248 nos of sprinklers at coal stacking and wagon loading areas. • Deployed 25 nos of Truck mounted sprinklers for roads and transit areas. • Deployed 2 nos heavy duty atomizer sprayers for coal handling. • Developed paved roads and deploying mechanical road sweeping machines. • Developed closed warehouses for fertilizers, food grains and agri products. Developed wind breaking wall and warehouses of 12 m height, Coal Stock yard. • Trucks deployed for inter carting of coal within port are provided with mechanical covers or tarpaulin covering.

The population of NUDA region as per Census 2011 is 13.01 Lakhs 1.2 As said above the functions of NUDA will be governed by under Andhra Pradesh Metropolitan Region and Urban Development Authorities Act 2016 with the objective of achieving orderly (planned) growth and environmental up gradation wherever necessary.

    SAHANIVASA Rehabilitation of the flood affected families in Chittoor & Nellore districts. FLOODS IN NELLORE DISTRICT Rovon cyclone crossed the coast on 14th November, 2015, but a depression occurred in Bay of Bengal on the same day. So heavy rains started in the district and Nonstop rains are there from 15th morning and continued till 20th November. The rain fall recorded up to 52 CMs in 24 hours in the district. All the roads including National Highway got damaged. National highway at Manubolu (near Guduru) has washed out and nobody can go other side even by walk. Many vehicles are stuck both sides since 16th midnight. No connections between the villages and the towns as all the roads are filled up with 5 to 6 feet deep water. There is heavy damage in Gudur and Naidupet Divisions and more than 600 villages(including habitations) are drowned in water. All the villages in Tada, Chillakuru and Muttukuru mandals of our working area are the worst affected. No electricity, no drinking water and no communications. More than 6000 people are shifted to schools and cyclone centers. Government is providing them food packets and water. The people who are in the shelters to be there for next 10 days, because it is forecasting that the monsoon is also started subsequently. There are many irrigation tanks in Tada & Chillakuru mandals and 45 of those tanks are breached and the streams are flooded in to the villages. Because of heavy rains in uplands and the water from breached tanks has joined the Kandaleru river which is going through TADA, CHILLAKUR & MUTHUKUR Mandals and flooded in to the villages.
