Modern elevators and escalators connect the platforms to the nearby campus, UW Medical Center and surrounding neighborhoods. A new pedestrian bridge allows walkers and bikers to avoid traffic by connecting the station to upper campus and the Burke-Gilman Trail. By 2021, the University District is slated to gain a second link light rail station located on Brooklyn Ave NE between NE 45th and NE 43rd streets. It will serve the surrounding residential community, the “Ave” business district, other employment sites, the UW Tower and the north University of Washington campus. Its official name is now U District Station. Riders will board trains underground. The station will have two entrances along Brooklyn Ave NE with elevators, escalators and stairs. The station will have about 100 bike parking spaces. The site is designed to accommodate future development above the station. When it opens in 2021, projected transit times suggest a 5 minute commute to Northgate and 8 minutes to Westlake Station in Downtown Seattle. 600 University Street | Suite 2018 | Seattle, WA 98101 13 P 206.623.8880 | E [email protected] | ParagonREA.com Employment Greater Seattle excels at the industries of the future - the region is a center of innovation and features some of the world’s top global brands. REPORT TO THE COMMUNITY F Y15 INSPIRING A SMARTER WORLD Dear Friends, FY 2015 was a year of challenges and great opportunities, and a turning point in KCTS 9’s 60-year history. I am happy to share that the year has been a success. Your support has allowed us to meet our goal of providing meaningful content that is relevant to our community—on air, online and in person. The media landscape has changed dramatically in recent years, with fundamental changes in the way audiences choose and view content. Today, more than one in three visitors to KCTS9.org use a tablet or mobile device to connect with us. Five years ago, that figure was less than 5 percent. With new tools and technologies, the public has become actively involved in the creation, selection and distribution of content. We live in a world where time-shifted viewing, streaming video, tablets and smartphones have profoundly changed how audiences consume and share content. How does a public media organization stand out when, with today’s technology, everyone is a media company? We met this challenge by launching an initiative to produce innovative digital offerings that broaden the content we provide and the platforms on which we provide it. While staying true to our mission to inspire a smarter world, we shifted to a digital-first strategy. We are committed to creating, commissioning and curating local content with a continued adherence to the public-media beliefs that have defined KCTS 9 for 60 years. In FY 2015, we brought you live public dialogues including political debates and election coverage; a current affairs series that explores in depth stories from across the Northwest; local specials on environmental issues; community events that celebrate our diverse cultures; and educational programming that is free and accessible to all.

Built in 1998, the building consists of 27 studios with efficient layouts all about 225 square feet in size. There are three shared kitchens, one on each floor. The kitchen areas provide appliances work areas, and individual cabinets for tenant’s use. Additionally, there is a coinop washer and dryer on each floor for resident’s convenience. Many of the apartments boast the true amenity of either a large deck or balcony, which are very uncommon for most student housing properties. The property lends itself well for the individual tenants who typically seeking a reasonable rental rate, has limited cooking needs and relies on the many amenities the “Gig Economy” provides. This in effect reduces the many maintenance issues of a typical apartment complex that would have 27 kitchens, many more residents leading to more wear and tear on a property. With a “WalkScore” of 95 and a “BikeScore” of 97, and just one block East of the popular “University Way”, makes Academia’s location highly desirable to a wide array of high paying quality renters. The property is also remarkably close to The University of Washington and just under 2 miles north of the UW Link Light rail Station which provides service to places like: Northgate, Capitol Hill, NAME Academia Apartments CenturyLink Field, T-Mobile Park, Downtown and the Seattle Tacoma Airport.
