Shuttle service on Feb. 15 will run as scheduled. Chili cookoff There will be a chili cookoff during the Total Army Sponsorship Program Rodeo Feb. 23 at the Community Activity Center on Chièvres Air Base. Participants and volunteers are needed. Simms took responsibility as the First Sergeant of Headquarters and Headquarters Company at U.S. Army Garrison Benelux during a ceremony Feb. 5 at the Caserne Daumerie Chapel. Capt. Curtis Radoff, company commander, highlighted the great work and dedication of Master Sgt. Shauna Richardson serving as the Brussels provost sergeant and the first sergeant for the last few months. During the ceremony, Richardson passed the company guidon to Radoff who himself handed the guidon to Simms, demonstrating his confidence in her being the backbone of the company. Bij de opstelling van die visie wenst men vooral gebruik te maken van de resultaten van het Onderzoeksproject Voerstreek, een onderdeel van het Vlaams geïntegreerd plattelandsbeleid (Annys e. a., 2017, Demeyer e. a., 2017, Gobin e. a., 2017, Mortelmans & Turtelboom, 2018, Thoonen e. a., 2017, Thoonen & De Smet, 2017, Wauters, 2018). De opstelling van die geïntegreerde landschapsvisie wordt begeleid door het overlegorgaan Projectgroep Voeren. Dat overlegorgaan bevat volgens Demeyer e. a. (2017) echter vooral bovenlokale stakeholders, maar te weinig lokale spelers zoals de inwoners, de horeca en de boeren van de streek en aan dat ‘gebrek’ moet dringend iets gedaan worden. Meer en meer is de wetenschappelijke wereld er immers van overtuigd geraakt dat de inbreng van lokale bewoners een essentiële meerwaarde oplevert bij het nadenken over de inrichting van hun landschap én bovendien is het ook een belangrijk sociaal gebeuren (Hilding-Rydevik et al., 2018, Jones et al., 2018).

    COMMUNIQUÉ DE PRESSE 26 NOVEMBRE 2019 50 « ÉCOLES PLUS PROPRES » POUR UNE « WALLONIE PLUS PROPRE » Ce mardi 26 novembre 2019, à l’Ecole primaire communale du Thier-à-Liège et en présence de l’Echevin de l’Instruction publique de Liège, Pierre Stassart, était présentée à la presse la liste des 50 écoles retenues pour participer au projet de labellisation intitulé « Ecole Plus Propre ». Comment faire en sorte d’impliquer élèves, enseignants, parents et personnel d’entretien afin que la propreté dans l’école et aux alentours soit l’une de leurs priorités ? Comment faire en sorte que la propreté « vive » dans le milieu éducatif, qu’être propre devienne un réflexe au même titre que de respirer ? Tel est le défi de l’appel à projet lancé par Be WaPP, pour une Wallonie Plus Propre, en partenariat avec Fost Plus et les Intercommunales de gestion de déchets, à toutes les écoles de Wallonie, maternelles, primaires et secondaires, tous réseaux confondus. UNE ÉCOLE PLUS PROPRE, C’EST QUOI EXACTEMENT ? « Une école plus propre, explique Mélanie Dussart, chef de projets éducatifs chez Be WaPP, c’est une école qui met tout en œuvre pour réduire ses déchets avant qu’ils ne rentrent dans l’établissement, par exemple en incitant les parents à équiper leur enfant d’une boite à tartines et d’une gourde ». C’est également une école qui permet aux enfants de trier efficacement leurs déchets pour qu’ils soient recyclés. On parle ici par exemple de placer des poubelles de tri dans les classes, d’expliquer les consignes de tri aux enfants et de veiller à ce qu’elles soient respectées.
