1 March 2012 Regional Express Holdings Ltd (Rex) today announced the appointment of Eugene Lee as the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Pel-Air Aviation Pty Ltd (Pel-Air), a wholly owned subsidiary of Rex. Eugene Lee replaces Danny Foster who has stepped down as COO. Eugene Lee, current Chief of Staff of Pel-Air, has had over 15 years of experience in the airline industry covering areas of management, strategic planning, management accounting, sales and marketing and customer service. He has spent a number of years working in the USA, UK and various countries in South East Asia where he held positions including Vice President for Eastern USA and South America for Singapore Airlines. John Sharp, Chairman of Pel-Air and Deputy Chairman of Rex said, “we thank Danny for his services especially for guiding Pel-Air through a significant restructuring of the Company resulting in Pel-Air’s outstanding financial performance in the first half of FY12.” Rex also announced that Garry Filmer, currently Rex General Manager Engineering, has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer standing in for Christopher Hine, who is on long service leave. Regional Express (Rex) is Australia’s largest independent regional airline operating a fleet of more than 40 Saab 340 aircraft on some 1,300 weekly flights to 35 destinations throughout New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Queensland.
