Introduction 1.1 Study Purpose Keeping pace with local parks, recreation, library, and cultural facility needs is vital to ensuring that residents continue to have opportunities to be healthy, active, and engaged. With this goal in mind, the Town of Oakville re-examines its long-range infrastructure strategy on a regular basis. In 2012, the Town of Oakville updated facility-related components of its 2006 Parks, Recreation, Culture, and Library Master Plan as part of Vision 2057 and to coincide with the Development Charges review. The 2012 Plan was approved in principle by Town Council in October 2012 and there is a need to reassess the capital recommendations of the Master Plan in light of the impending 2017 Development Charges review.
