DID YOU KNOW? WHAT’S IN A NAME? In Hebrew, the name Moses means, “I drew him out of water.” Water is an important symbol in Moses’ life story. As an infant, Moses was rescued from the Nile River. As an adult, Moses led his people across the Red Sea. The name Jesus means “God is salvation” in Hebrew. It is related to the name Joshua. For more about Jesus’ name, read Matthew 1:23-25 and Luke 1:31-33.
