Situated within the Goulburn-Murray, the area is recognised as being the only Empowered Communities Region within Victoria which works towards the creation of an integrated community where Aboriginal people’s rights are supported and their contributions are valued and celebrated. Infrastructure is crucial to the creation of jobs and a socially stable Greater Shepparton. Investment in rail will increase access to the region and enhance the areas visitor economy and provide efficient means of moving freight from Greater Shepparton to the Port of Melbourne. Alongside the importance of connectivity is the urgency for education facilities to meet the ongoing demand of the local community supporting the careers and future of the regions youth, and filling critical skills gaps. The establishment of modern health infrastructure, efficient and reliable connectivity, high quality facilities for education, an expanded state of the art sporting venue and an attractive and welcoming Central Business District is a combination that the Greater Shepparton community recognise as being crucial to the future of Greater Shepparton. These investments will reduce intervention and enhance personal wellbeing and pave the way for Greater Shepparton to become the most liveable city in Australia by 2025. Projects 1.
