A Welcome Housing Boost from Glen Oaks New Housing Is Coming to Arden with News That the Association Is to Begin Work on 48 Much-Needed Homes
home AUTUMN 2015 www.glenoaks.org.uk A welcome housing boost from Glen Oaks New housing is coming to Arden with news that the Association is to begin work on 48 much-needed homes. They will be built on the site of the former St Louise Primary School and work will begin in October. The £6.4 million project is great news for the community and half the cost has been generously funded by the Scottish Government via Glasgow City Council. Glen Oaks will fund the other half. Chief Executive Alasdair McKee said: “Everyone will welcome this exciting new development of homes – it is just what the community needs. It is the fifth such development in the last 10 years which has delivered 150 new homes for Arden. We are very grateful to Glasgow City Council and the Scottish Government who share our vision of creating new homes.” Arden’s latest housing comes at a time when FOUR major refurbishment projects have taken place in the area transforming 430 tenements and in turn making a big difference to people’s lives. And it brings to £25million the total Glen Oaks has spent on housing in Arden. In a further important development, Glen Oaks is pleased to announce that we have struck an agreement with the contractor Crudens to provide some employment opportunities during the construction of the homes beginning Looking to the future…..Glen Oaks Senior Project Officer Louise with a temporary post for a cleaner.
