Background:

The IT team within the Ervia Shared Service Centre is an embedded and integral part of the business providing operational, strategic and customer-focused services. These services include business/IT strategy alignment, project management, solution delivery, service management, information and operations management and enterprise architecture. These services are provided through a coalition of in-house resources and external service providers.

The Role:

Reporting to the Middleware Specialist, the Middleware Analyst will contribute to the Analysis, Development, Modification and Maintenance of Oracle SOA suite and Service Bus Middleware solution, infrastructure and processes within Ervia Shared Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Provides technical expertise in the administration and support of the Oracle SOA middleware infrastructure  Configuration and implementation of SOA Suite middleware environment, problem diagnosis and resolution, capacity planning, monitoring and analysis of Web Services performance, and administration of the SOA middleware infrastructure  Developing, documenting, and implementing procedures that support, maintain and enhance application server products and services  Overseeing the application architecture of middleware tier infrastructure  Acting as a technical expert in problem resolution for middleware infrastructure hardware and software issues  Responsible for understanding high availability / fault tolerance from the applications perspective  Developing and implementing procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementation  Maintaining appropriate controls and documentation to ensure compliance of audit requirements and qualifications  Making technical and process improvement recommendations

 Develop, document, and implement procedures that support, maintains and enhances application server products and services  Function as a technical expert in problem resolution for SOA middleware infrastructure hardware and software issues  Responsible for understanding high availability / fault tolerance from the applications perspective  Develop and implement procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementation.  Support SOA Developers in day to day work  Create documents on SOA development and Implementation strategy  Help establish Management, Monitoring and Administration procedures for SOA Suite infrastructure based on Oracle recommended practices.  Collaborate with the J2EE team, DBAs, technical leads, developers and business analysts for design activities as it relates to interfaces to Oracle SOA Middleware.  Enhance/maintain the reusable service repository, design patterns and reusable technical components (e.g. Web Services and SOA components, BPEL/ESB processes, data transformations, error handling, auditing, logging etc.)  Other duties as required from time to time

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

 Relevant Application Certification (e.g. Oracle) would be an advantage  ITIL Certification and Project Management Certification would be an advantage  In depth knowledge of Oracle SOA suite and Service Bus Middleware. Working experience with Oracle SOA suite 12C would be an advantage.  In depth knowledge of Weblogic server governance and scripting.  Implementation Knowledge on Microsoft / Amazon Cloud Integration would be an advantage.  IT Middleware experience (experience in an Oracle environment is an advantage)  Proven ability to create and develop good working relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals, coupled with the ability to gain commitment from others  Experience with identifying improvement opportunities, generating ideas and implementing solutions  Have excellent analytical skills and be able to identify and analyse problems and potential improvements, and propose and implement solutions  Ability to set up ongoing procedures to collect and review information as needed  Proactively identifying new areas of learning and using newly gained knowledge and skill on the job  Ability to set own high standards of performance and delivering desired results
