The Norfolk County Council NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (ROCKLAND ST MARY) (EMERGENCY NOTICE) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTION 2021 Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 – Section 14(2) In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to AW repairs to a burst water main the use by vehicles of the C203 New Inn Hill from 500m east of its junction with C195 Surlingham Lane for 50m eastwards in the PARISH OF ROCKLAND ST MARY will be temporarily prohibited from 22nd to 28th April 2021 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 7 days within the period. If necessary the restriction could run for a maximum period of 21 days. Alternative route is via: New Inn Hill, Lower Road, Claxton Corner, The Street, Ferry Road,Norwich Road, Langley Green, Staithe Road, Langley Road, Norwich Road, A146 Norwich Road, A146 Loddon Road, Kirby Road, The Street, Rockland Road, Bramerton Lane, Rookery Hill. The Street (Ashby St. Mary/ Caistor St. Edmund and Bixley/ Kirby Bedon/ Alpington/ Rockland St. Mary/ Yelverton/ Langley with Hardley/ Chedgrave/ Framingham Pigot/ Carleton St. Peter/ Claxton/ Holverston/ Hellington/ Trowse with Newton/ Thurton/ Bergh Apton/ Bramerton).     Parish Registers and Transcripts in the Norfolk Record Office This list summarises the Norfolk Record Office’s (NRO’s) holdings of parish (Church of England) registers and of transcripts and other copies of them. Parish Registers The NRO holds registers of baptisms, marriages, burials and banns of marriage for most parishes in the Diocese of Norwich (including Suffolk parishes in and near Lowestoft in the deanery of Lothingland) and part of the Diocese of Ely in south-west Norfolk (parishes in the deanery of Fincham and Feltwell). Some Norfolk parish records remain in the churches, especially more recent registers, which may be still in use. In the extreme west of the county, records for parishes in the deanery of Wisbech Lynn Marshland are deposited in the Wisbech and Fenland Museum, whilst Welney parish records are at the Cambridgeshire Record Office. The covering dates of registers in the following list do not conceal any gaps of more than ten years; for the populous urban parishes (such as Great Yarmouth) smaller gaps are indicated. Whenever microfiche or microfilm copies are available they must be used in place of the original registers, some of which are unfit for production. A few parish registers have been digitally photographed and the images are available on computers in the NRO's searchroom. The digital images were produced as a result of partnership projects with other groups and organizations, so we are not able to supply copies of whole registers (either as hard copies or on CD or in any other digital format), although in most cases we have permission to provide printout copies of individual entries.

    2017/18 Community Governance Review 1 South Norfolk Community Governance Review 2017 - 2018 A review of all of the parishes in the South Norfolk district; to ensure that community governance for the district continues to be effective and convenient; and reflects the identities and interests of the community. A Review can improve community engagement, build more cohesive communities, create better local democracy and more effective and convenient delivery of local services 2 Why undertake a Review now? Government guidance states that it is good practice to conduct a full Community Governance Review every 10 to 15 years. The last full Community Governance Review in South Norfolk was undertaken in 2002. What kind of Review has to be done? Reviews have to take into account guidance issued under S.100(4) of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007 by the Secretary of State and the Local Government Boundary Commission for England in March 2010. 3 From the current Government guidance: “A community governance review offers an opportunity to put in place strong, clearly defined boundaries, tied to firm ground features, and remove the many anomalous parish boundaries that exist in England. Reviews also offer the chance to principal councils to consider the future of what may have become redundant or moribund parishes, often the result of an insufficient number of local electors within the area who are willing to serve on a parish council.” 4 The Terms of Reference Section 81 of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Heath Act 2007 requires the Council to publish a Terms of Reference document for a Community Governance Review.
