We both Mother’s Day enjoy gardens and the outdoors so we headed to Bok Tower Gardens for a couple of hours first. Then we picked up lunch and headed to the shore of Lake Wailes, where there's a park, and sat in our car under a tree to enjoy the lake view while we ate. To make sure the food was tasty when we got there, we chose to get a mini pizza and a grinder from Pizzanos Pizza in the Orange Grove plaza on FL 60 east of downtown. The plaza has a Tractor supply and a few small businesses with the pizza place being along the south side parallel to the street.

Pizzanos is set up for takeout and delivery more than eat- in, although there are two small tables available and a bench just outside the door. I liked the fact they had the mini size option so Joe could eat all of the pizza and not worry about leftovers. I thought the grinder refered to a sub sandwich, but found it is actually made from pizza From: Community Media Page 8 Hickory Hills Happenings MAY EVENTS free samples.

THE PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE HICKORY HILLS MANOR HOME OWNERS ASSOCIATION ARE AS FOLLOWS:

• A homeowners association ensures that the collective rights and interests of all homeowners are respected and preserved. • A homeowners association is made up of leaders elected by their neighbors to represent all the residents’ best interest. Members only may vote. • The HOA will represent the homeowners on issues common to the general membership with the Hickory Hills Manor owner and management team. (In January the HOA officers meet with the owner and management to discuss possible lot rent increases and concerns of the homeowners including improvements, repairs, and issues with the common areas.) • The HOA encourages the membership to follow the Hickory Hills Manor rules and Regulations and their Site Prospectus to achieve a “good neighbor” atmosphere beneficial to our common interest and enjoyment. • The Hickory Hills Manor HOA offers many different forms of activities. These include potlucks, Thursday night dinners, dances, movie nights, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and several other forms of entertainment, as well as free admittance to our annual cookout in March. Involvement by all home owners within the community is encouraged. • Our annual dues are only $10 per single member and $15 per couple. Dues must be paid by Dec. 31st to insure the right to vote in the Annual election of officers held on the second Tuesday in January of each year.
