Bhopal: A 22-year-old youth was stabbed to death by a mis- creant over petty issue at a Ganesh pandal under Chola Mandir police station area in the night on Tuesday; accused stabbed deceased after he refused to provide water after food during religious feast. Panic prevailed in the area after a youth whose group has organized Ganesh pandal during Ganesh festival. The deceased identified as Harsh Gaur was beaten brutally dur- ing the fight he was attacked with a sharp edged weapon in his stomach and later he died after been taken to a nearby hospital. The accused was identified as Vishal who is habit- ual criminal of the area. During the investigation police found that the Harsh and his friends organized Ganesh pandal for Ganesh festival. On Tuesday they organized a religious feast in the night in which the accused came and after having food at the Ganesg pandal he asked for water from Harsh and throw an empty water bot- tle towards Harsh which hit his face and angered him and he failed to provide water. After Harsh failed to provide water Vishal started to abuse him and scuffled with him and later stabbed him with a sharp edged weapon which proved fatal. The Harsh was rushed to nearby hospital where he was declared dead. After the preliminary investigation the body was sent for the post mortem and the police have registered a case under section 302 of the IPC and started further investigation. Chain snatching, robberies and traffic violations cases have become quite conspicuous despite intensive police patrolling. In the first incident bike borne miscreants snatched a gold chain from the wife of an Assistant Commandant, serving in the second battalion. The incident occurred in front of the AC’s bungalow situated in the Kampoo area of the city. In the second incident, miscreants fled with a gold chain of a lady who was out for her morning walk. The lady, wife of a retired headmaster, was walking alone at the Govindpuri area of the city in the morning when an unknown assailant snatched the chain and fled away. In yet another incident of chain snatching two goons attacked an old lady at Krishna Nagar before flee- ing with her gold chain. Though the police recently arrested a gang of chain snatchers there doesn’t seem to be any laxity in this par- ticular brand of crime. The police are yet to get any vital clues about these three incidents though they have released the CCTV footage of one of the suspected criminals. In a related incident drunken bike riders caused the death of a nine year old girl when they crushed the girl under the out of control bullet. The tragic incident occurred at the Saraswati Nagar area in the intervening night of Tuesday- Wednesday.
