Event Breakfast Briefing on Tax Implications for the Cross

Border Employer and Worker hosted together with Eures

Cross Border Partnership and

Dundalk Chamber of Commerce. Speaker Rose Tierney of Tierney Tax Training Ltd. The speaker covered topics as redundancy payments, pension’s lump sums, tax relief on pension contributions and tax requirements for the cross border worker.

In addition spoke about implications for employers who employ cross border workers and the implications for employers with staff members who work in both jurisictions and social insurance benefits and pensions in a cross border situation.

The event was publicised through a variety of advertising methods; local newspapers including: , The , The Dundalk

Leader and the Newry Times.

Also on social media platforms, including the Eures Cross-border

Website and the Dundalk Chamber website and Facebook Additionally, approximately 700 letters were issued to Local companies across the region.

Carried in Argus, Dundalk Democrat, Dundalk Leader newspapers Attendees A Breakfast Briefing on the Tax Implications for the Cross Border Employer and Cross Border Workers was attended by over 130 delegates, attendance including employers, cross border workers and business organisations.

Employers: The employers included Accountants, Financial, Transport, Manufacturing and Hospitality companies.

Cross Border Workers: Workers in attendance are from the health, finance, hospitality and transport sectors.

Business Organisations: The event was also attended by local business organisations including Border People Project, Louth Enterprise Office, Louth Leader, Monaghan Integrated Development, Loughs Agency Dundalk Chamber and Eures Cross Border Partnership
