LIBRARY NEWS *Susan London Appointed to position of Executive Associate Director for Academic Affairs After an internal search, and with virtually unanimous support from the Ruth Lilly Medical Library Committee Selection Sub-committee and the RLML librarians, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan London to the position of Executive Associate Director for Academic Affairs. She joins Lola Thompson, Executive Associate Director for Finance and Administration, as part of the senior leadership team of the Ruth Lilly Medical Library. --Submitted by Julie J. Elizabeth is also spending part of her time in the Chemistry Library, the home base in her role as Science Reference/Instruction Librarian. --Gary Wiggins, Coordinator, Science Libraries LIBRARY EVENTS *Baseball History Collection Featured at IUPUI University Library A sampling of the National Art Museum of Sport collection of baseball cartoons by Willard Mullin, noted artist for the New York World Telegram from 1934 to 1966 are featured for the month of June in an IUPUI University Library, Level One Lobby display. The large-scale inllustrations include a representation of the 1937 World Series win by the New York Yankees over the New York Giants, with Joe DiMaggio at bat. There are also cartoons of Gabby Hartnett, manager of the Chicago Cubs, who won the 1938 National League pennant, and the 1939 World Series "fireworks," when the Cincinnatti Reds fell to the Yanks. The baseball cartoons will be joined by a display of promotions for IUPUI neighbor, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, host to the "Iggaipaa: Celebrating Inuit Art, 1948-1970" exhibition, opening June 9, and the annual Indian Market event, June 23 & 24. The cover has a 1 ½” tear on the bottom left that has been repaired nicely with scotch tape.
