JOHN BRUTNELL

GROUP AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

John Brutnell started his aviation career working for Gold Air International at Cambridge Airport where he was involved in introducing the first 45 fleet to the UK commercial aircraft register. Following relocation to Ireland to set up one of the first JAR OPS Air Operators Certificates with another new aircraft type, John returned to Biggin Hill to the lead Gold Air International sales and marketing department negotiating management and charter contracts with many high net worth individuals and corporations.

During June 2002 John joined London City Airport as the Commercial Manager for the Jet Centre. The airport held one of the first business aviation worldwide Air Operators Certificate and operated a Falcon 900EX globally for which John took full responsibility.

Following the sale of the airport, John joined ExecuJet Aviation Group and was key in establishing the UK entity with its own Air Operators Certificate. In the following three years ExecuJet Aviation Group restructured its European business and relocated its back office support functions to the UK and started with the Shared Services department concept. Under Johns leadership this department now supports the ExecuJet managed fleet across the world and encompasses 80 people at its UK base in Cambridge UK.

John’s responsibilities as Group Aircraft Operations Director also encompass overall standards and safety as well as commercial and operational efficiency across the ExecuJet Aviation Group worldwide fleet.

John has an engineering honours degree from the UK as well as a flying instructor rating. www.execujet.com
