    PRESS RELEASE 28 January 2016 Luxaviation Group acquires largest FBO at Munich International Airport through its ExecuJet subsidiary. Luxaviation Group’s ExecuJet will offer handling and ground support services from its fixed-base operation (FBO) at Munich International Airport following acquisition of the former European Business Aviation Services’ (EBAS International GmbH) facility. The Munich FBO is ExecuJet’s second handling facility in Germany after Berlin Schoenefeld, and will begin operation on 1 February 2016. This addition takes the ExecuJet FBO network to 20 locations across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Australasia. In the meantime, it may opt to take up another temporary tenancy in the airport’s general aviation terminal starting next year. “We would love to keep both bases [i.e Dubai International and Dubai South], but it has been made clear [by the Dubai authorities] that Dubai South is going to be the main long-term home for general aviation,” ExecuJet Middle East vice president Mike Berry told AIN. Q: In 1994 you took over ExecuJet’s operations in Johannesburg. What was the private aviation situation like back then in South Africa? The South African market was, and still is, surprisingly active. At the time, Bombardier’s market share was low, and the ethics of the industry at large were not great. We have been fortunate to have been instrumental in improving both and, in the course of which, learnt a lot and built some life-long relationships. 26 JETGALA Q: Looking towards newer markets, how is the scene shaping up for ExecuJet in the Asia-Pacific, and why is it so?
