On 10 December 1986 we submitted to you our Reports Nos. 521 and 522 following our consideration of the review of the City of Exeter's boundary with the Districts of East Devon and Teignbridge in the County of Devon, and of part of the parish review of the District of East Devon. 2. In our Report No. 522 we proposed the realignment of the boundary between the Parishes of Woodbury and Clyst St. George in order to place the village of Ebford within Clyst. Members noted that at present Exeter Airport was surrounded by uncontrolled airspace. This could lead to conflicts with unknown aircraft. The Airport had identified a requirement to adopt the airspace around Exeter Airport to assist the ATC in providing enhanced levels of information to aircraft using the airport and in the local area. The aim was to create a “Known Environment”. This was a lengthy process that involved an application to the Civil Aviation authority (CAA) and could take 130 weeks.

    Connecting Devon and Somerset DC14-075 February 25, 2014 For immediate release CONNECTING DEVON AND SOMERSET ANNOUNCES SUPERFAST BROADBAND FOR 25 COMMUNITIES Following last month’s announcement on exchange areas, CDS confirms the communities to benefit from high-speed fibre broadband Connecting Devon and Somerset (CDS) today confirmed the next 25 communities to benefit from the £94 million programme to bring superfast broadband to rural areas. Last month, the programme announced that it would make high-speed fibre broadband available to 70,000 homes and businesses by the end of July and revealed the names of the latest exchange areas to be included in the CDS roll-out plans. Now it has been able to go one step further and pinpoint the actual communities within those exchange areas, which will benefit. In Devon, they include Ashford, Landkey, Heanton Punchardon, Braunton, Morthoe, Swimbridge, Burlescombe, Feniton, Ottery St Mary, Dunkeswell, Membury, Honiton, Newton Abbot, Ashburton, Ilsington, Kingskerswell, Bovey Tracey and Belstone. In Somerset, the programme will roll-out to Horton, Barrington, Ilminster, Broadway, Dowlish Wake , Kingstone, and Wellington*. Today’s announcement comes as a result of the detailed survey work that is critical in determining how the roll-out plan takes shape through the life of the programme.
