Perancangan Buku Cerita Sejarah Ciung Wanara Berbasis Augmented Reality Untuk Anak Sekolah Dasar PERANCANGAN BUKU CERITA SEJARAH CIUNG WANARA BERBASIS AUGMENTED REALITY UNTUK ANAK SEKOLAH DASAR 1 2 Riza Novan , Ananda Risya Triani 1,2 Universitas Telkom Abstrak: Kabupaten Ciamis yang dulu dikenal sebagai Tatar Galuh memiliki banyak sejarah kerajaan yang menarik untuk diketahui, salah satunya adalah Kerajaan Galuh masa Pemerintahan Ciung Wanara. Menurut Kabid Pemasaran DISPAREKRAF Kab. Kata kunci: Augmented Reality (AR), Buku Cerita, Ciung Wanara Abstract: Ciamis District, formerly known as the Tatar Galuh has a lot of interesting royal history, with Galuh Kingdom in time of Ciung Wanara as one of the most renowned. However, based on interviews with the Marketing Chief of Tourism and Creative Industries Office in Ciamis District, the problem is that children today are more familiar with foreign story rather than the locals, happens because of the massive media publications that employ both digital and print media. While in the other hand, the lack of education - from parents to children - and media publications for local histories such as Kingdom of Galuh Ciung Wanara making it less known to the ears of children. In conducting data, the author used three data collection techniques -Observation, Interview and Literature. From the data Penulis adalah mahasiswa dan staff pengajar jurusan Desain Komunikasi Visual, Fakultas Industri Kreatif Universitas Telkom, email: [email protected] 97 and analysis, it is necessary to create an education media in the form of historical story book based on Augmented Reality (AR). Augmented Reality was chosen as the use of digital media for education are thriving. The audience target for “Historical Story Book of Ciung Wanara based on Augmented Reality (AR)” are primary school children aged 7-12 years, with socio-economic level of middle to upper class, live in West Java Province, specifically in East Priangan region, who used to employ digital media for educational purpose. As a results of research and design, the “Historical Story Book of Ciung Wanara based on Augmented Reality (AR)” can be created. Keywords: Augmented Reality (AR), Story Book, Ciung Wanara PENDAHULUAN Kabupaten Ciamis yang dulu dikenal sebagai Tatar Galuh memiliki banyak sejarah kerajaan. Tipografi R.Novan & A.R. Triani, Perancangan Buku Cerita Sejarah Ciung Wanara Berbasis Augmented Reality Untuk Anak Sekolah Dasar. Weintraub Southeast Asia Paper No. 34 Center for Southeast Asian Studies School of Hawaiian, Asian and Pacific Studies University of Hawaii at Manoa 1991 ACKNOWLEDGENffiNTS I am indebted to all the people who have helped me in my studies of pantun Sunda. I would like to mention a few individuals here who generously contributed their time and energy to the work contained in this volume. Yoseph Iskandar, Ajip Rosidi, Epih Wirahadikusumah and Amalia Firman collaborated closely with me on the translations of the Sundanese epics and helped me understand the stories within the context of Sundanese culture. Alice Dewey, Hardja Susilo and Ricardo D. Trimillos made valuable comments and suggestions on the writing of the synopses. Truong Buu Lam, Jim Collins, and Flo Lamoureux at the University of Hawaii Center for Southeast Asian Studies were very helpful in getting this volume to press. I am also grateful to the Institute of Culture and Communication at the East-West Center for supporting my research in West Java. Most importantly, I would like to dedicate this volume to the pantun bard, Ki Enjum, who willingly shared his time and knowledge with me. Ki Enjum begins the performance of every pantun Sunda with the invocatory song, "Rajah," which functions as an apology in the event that the performer makes a mistake during the performance. It seems appropriate that I begin this volume by quoting the opening lines from the song "Rajah".

  • The Mythological Worldview of the Contemplative Site Nagara Padang
Chapter 18. Sunda 1 – The affirmative life The mythological worldview of the contemplative site of Nagara Padang, West Java, Indonesia by Stephanus Djunatan 2 Abstract . The study of indigenous myth such as the one at the rocky contemplative site of Nagara Padang, Gunung Padang, West Java can be a useful starting point for the comparative study of human wisdom. After discussing the cultural history setting and providing a sketch of the landscape, I will delineate the teaching myth and its meaning. I will analyze this meaning using an etic approach on the teaching myth. The analysis proposes the account of affirmative life as the indigenous ontological con- ception of life. This discussion of the comparative studies of human wisdom will conclude by compar- ing the indigenous ontological conception and the Dao De Ching’s ontological conception. An open ending is an invitation to maintain intercultural dialogue. 1. Introduction In today’s era of globalisation, intercultural encounter studies of indigenous mytholo- gies seek to offer a comparative understanding of human civilizations, highlighting the interconnection of contemporary global life. One form in which mythology can manifest itself is as a narrative form depicting how life began and where it is heading, thus illuminating the spiral process of life as locally understood. This is the kind of mythology that is told at the Sundanese site of Nagara Padang, West Java, and which presumably dates back to the pre-Hindu and Buddhist era in the Indonesian Archipelago. The believed meditating place of the historically- legendary King of the Sundanese kingdom of Galuh, Prabu Premana Dikusumah 1 The term ‘Sunda’ used here in the title is not intended to refer to the vast land between Asia and Aus- tralia, or to the Sundanese people and culture.

404 WacanaWacana Vol. Vol.17 No. 17 3No. (2016): 3 (2016) 404–437 Wim van Zanten, Some notes on the “pantun“ storytelling of the Baduy minority 405 Some notes on the pantun storytelling of the Baduy minority group Its written and audiovisual documentation Wim van Zanten Abstract Baduy pantun stories are part of the larger Sundanese oral tradition of pantun storytelling in west Java. The stories recount the deeds of the nobility of such old Sundanese kingdoms as Pajajaran and Galuh. Although the Baduy still recite the pantun stories in their rituals, in the larger cities to the east of the Baduy village Kanékés pantun recitation almost disappeared. On the basis of short periods of fieldwork in and around Kanékés village between 1976 and 2014, in this essay I shall discuss Baduy pantun storytelling. I shall summarize earlier major publications and analyse some performance aspects of two Baduy pantun stories which I recorded. Although I do not concentrate on the text, I do discuss a few cultural issues arising from the texts. Baduy oral literature also includes children’s and women’s songs, as well as fables and myths of origin (dongéng) which do not involve music. These will not be discussed here. Keywords Pantun; storytelling; west Java; Sundanese; Baduy; minority; performative aspects; music; rajah; kacapi; oral literature; audiovisual. Wim van Zanten was staff member at Leiden University, from 1971-2007. Most of his publications are based on his fieldwork on music in Malawi (1969-1971, 2008) and Indonesia (1976-present) and some are about methodological issues in anthropology and ethnomusicology, including statistics for the social sciences.

  • A Princess from Sunda Some Aspects of Nyai Roro Kidul
R o b e r t W e s s in g Rotterdam, The Netherlands A Princess from Sunda Some Aspects of Nyai Roro Kidul Abstract This article examines the roots of Nyai Roro Kidul as a princess from West Java who for various reasons was cast out from her parental palace to meet her fate as the Spirit Queen of the Indian Ocean and future consort of Senapati (the sixteenth-century founder of the Muslim state of Mataram) and his successors. In the process it addresses questions of Nyai Roro Kidul’s sexuality and her mythological roots in South, Southeast, and East Asia, as well as her function, with that of the ruler, of maintaining the fertility and thus the welfare of the realm. Her origin as a West Javanese princess embodies the spiritual essence of both the Javanese ruler and his realm, since Nyai Roro Kidul, being part of the ruler’s female ancestral line, is the source of life and prosperity for him and thus also for his subjects. Keywords: Nyai Roro Kidul— Southeast Asian mythology— spirits— fertility. Asian Folklore Studies, Volume 56,1997: 317-353 YAI R o r o K i d u l , the Goddess of the Southern or Indian Ocean, is one of the most discussed characters in the Javanese spirit world. The mythology surrounding this goddess, who is also known underN a variety of other names (see RlCKLEFS 1974,200,n. 67,203, n. 74),is made more complex by having been influenced by elements of varying ori gin (SCHRIEKE 1925,286).
