And so ends the story of Good vs Evil.By SekaiThe story of Ultimo was never anything extraordinary. It was simple and straight forward, Good vs Evil. Which is stronger? And so we read through 12 Vol's of back and forth struggle and questioning of one and the other. The art was a spectacle that always convinces me to buy again but throughout the wait, all I wanted to know was the answer the artist came up with.Overall, I'd give Ultimo a 6.8/10. Most the points goes to the art. There was a lot going on throughout the story all the way till the end and then they just gave us quite the rushed ending. And the answer they gave us was well, simply "satisfactional" to all. Well, at least they all got to live happily ever after Robotic incarnations of pure good and pure evil battle to the death to determine which force is the most powerful in the universe.Ultimo and Vice are Karakuri Doji, the mechanical embodiment of pure good and pure evil, devoid of human emotions that can cloud one's judgment. Their purpose: to battle to the death to prove once and for all whether good or evil is the most powerful force in the universe. In a desperate bid to avert disaster, Ultimorsquo;s master Yamato tries to convince his high school crush to join him on the side of good! Meanwhile, Ultimo is challenged to a duel by Vice, and the battle between good and evil resumes in earnest. Will the Karakuri Docirc;ji finally break free of their dastardly puppet masterrsquo;s grand plan? About the AuthorHiroyuki Takei Unconventional author/artist Hiroyuki Takei began his career by winning the coveted Hop Step Award (for new manga artists) and the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize (named after the famous artist of the same name). After working as an assistant to famed artist Nobuhiro Watsuki, Takei debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1997 with Butsu Zone, an action series based on Buddhist mythology. His multicultural adventure manga Shaman King, which debuted in 1998, became a hit and was adapted into an anime TV series. Takei lists Osamu Tezuka, American comics and robot anime among his many influences. STAN LEE As a kid, Stanley Martin Lieber spent a lot of time dreaming up wild adventures. By the time he got to high school, he was putting his imagination to work writing stories at Timely, a publishing company that went on to become the legendary Marvel Comics. Starting with the Fantastic Four, Lee and his partner Jack Kirby created just about every superhero you can think of, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Hulk, Iron Man, Daredevil and Thor. Along the way, he wrote under many pen names, but the one that stuck was Stan Lee. Advances The Plot With Great ArtBy Tristan A. HayesThis volume remains strong but due to the distance in the release dates, I would suggest going back to the previous volume to see what happens. This volume wouldn't be a good one to jump into the series at because it starts off right in the middle of the time travel arc. Even I had to take a step back to find my bearings with the volume. I was confused if it was taking place in the future or back in the past. Fortunately things are clarified very quickly.Content wise, it is a fantastic volume that helps to get Yamato to evolve his God Ultimo to be somewhat better at challenging Rune's Karakuridoji as well as Vice Back From The Dark. Vice took a back seat in this volume as well as many other antagonists. However extensive time with Rune made up for it. Additionally, we did get some backstory for both Rune and Yamato.I loved the art for this volume a lot.

  • Anime As an Adaptation
HUGVÍSINDASVIÐ Anime as an adaptation Anime‘s approach to the original source Ritgerð til BA-prófs í Japönsku máli og menningu Rósa Björk Blöndal Janúar 2014 Háskóli Íslands Hugvísindasvið Japanskt mál og menning Anime as an adaptation Anime‘s approach to the original source Ritgerð til BA-prófs í Japönsku máli og menningu Rósa Björk Blöndal Kt.: 050987-3619 Leiðbeinandi: Gunnella Þorgeirsdóttir Janúar 2014 Abstract Anime is a big part of Japanese culture. While some anime have original storylines, most of them are adapted from various other sources. The goal of this research is to find out how anime that are based on other sources approaches the original work. For this researched many manga and Light Novels were read, as well as many anime’s were watched and analysed. However, because of the sheer numbers of anime adaptations, only a few titles will be discussed and analysed in this research. These anime titles have however, very different approaches and will give the reader a general idea as to how anime as an adaption works. The research will begin with introduction on anime and manga, in order for the reader to understand the context of this research better. It will then be constructed into chapters. Each chapter will begin with discussing the anime’s original source, then the anime itself. The chapters will then end with analysing the differences between the original and the anime and the reasons for those differences. 1 Index 1. The story keep going in new directionsBy Maria M.I really wish this manga got an anime, but it doesn't look likely as the trend in Japan is to feature the less violence as possible. That's why we don't have great shonen anime series like Bleach, Beelzebub, etc running anymore.Oh well, maybe there's hope for an OVA or something. This volume was more character oriented, rather than action and origin oriente, and it's a great change of pace. The latest story left me wanting for more, looking forward to volume 10!0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.
