COMPETITION SUMMARY FOR ENTRANTS

1 FIA: A NEW BEGINNING FOR DRIFTING Following repeated requests from its National Sporting Authorities (ASNs), the FIA recognized drifting as a motorsport discipline and organized the inaugural Intercontinental Drifting Cup (IDC) in 2017, taking place in the heart of . For 2019, the FIA returns to , but with a brand new venue at Tsukuba Circuit, and an exciting new format that will provide the most excitement for spectators, as well as increased track time and battles for ALL competitors. We look forward to receiving your entry and rely on your support and commitment to further expand this new discipline.

2 LOCATION & DATE

The 2019 FIA IDC moves to the iconic Tsukuba Circuit, located just 60km north of central Tokyo.

The event will take place over three days…

 29th Nov: Practice (Closed for Spectators)  30th Nov: Qualifying & ‘Bottom 16’ Battle Tournament  1st Dec: Final Battle Tournament

3 COMPETITON FORMAT

The 2019 IDC will debut a new competition format which will give drivers a second chance at qualifying for the Final Tournament, as well as ensuring that ALL competitors in the event get at least one Battle. With a maximum entry of 31 drivers in the competition, those who qualify from 1st to 15th will proceed immediately to the Final Tournament on Sunday afternoon. Those qualifying from 16th to 31st will take part in the new ‘Bottom 16 Tournament’ on the Saturday afternoon. The winner of the ‘Bottom 16 Tournament’ will then proceed to the final tournament as th the 16 and final qualifier. 4 JUDGING Same as during the 2018 event, all scoring will be made by Human Judges, assisted by various technological tools to ensure they have all information. The scores will be based on a combination of four factors:

LINE, ANGLE, STYLE and SPEED.

5 ENTRY PROCEDURE

KEY DATES:  3rd June: Entries Open, Regulations Published.  18th August: Entries Closed.  13th September: Publication of Entry List.

KEY INFO:  US $3,500 per entry, includes: ⁻ Round trip sea freight of car and equipment to Japan. ⁻ Access and catering for 3 people for duration of the event. ⁻ Accident insurance for each crew member.

6 EVENT PRIZES

The following trophies and prize money will be awarded:

 1st Place Overall - ¥ 1,000,000,  2nd Place Overall - ¥ 500,000,  3rd Place Overall - ¥ 300,000,  ‘Bottom 16’ Winner, and  Best Qualifier.

Additionally, the overall winner will be invited to attend the FIA’s Annual Prize Giving Ceremony in Paris the week after the event, alongside the stars of world motorsport.
