For Immediate Release March 20, 2018 Official Cusco Racing Motorsports Operations, 2018 Our company, Carrosser, internationally known with Cusco brand, will continue to engage the spirit and activities of motorsports into 2018, with the same goal we’ve had of truly proven motorsports equipment, in-house quality assurance and production, and vehicle-specific development. This is our announcement for 2018, where we will introduce the various motorsports categories and involvement, as Cusco Racing once again. With this year marking the 41st year for our team operations, we continue with “FIA Asia Pacific Rally Championships,” “All-Japan Rally Championships,” and “All-Japan Dirt Trials” as our primary rally operations. For challenges in road racing, we are extending our efforts to the top-level entries in “Japan Super Taikyu Endurance Series,” “TGR 86/BRZ Race,” and in “All-Japan Gymkhana Championships” and other widely participated racing series. With our rally operations, we have a joint-venture team with TRD (Toyota Technocraft) putting resources into our AWD Toyota Vitz specially prepared entry in the Asia-Pacific Rally. This will be accompanied in Team Cusco Racing with our Skoda Fabia R5, to round up our two-car entry. The challenge will also include the “All-Japan Super Rally Series” which started last year as well. For “All-Japan Rally Championships,” we are campaigning young and upcoming drivers, in addition to our proven champions, as we have done in recent years, and to provide a more engaging and interesting competition season. The “TGR Rally Challenge” will host the stage for our Toyota Aqua to engage drivers at the grassroots level, which is essentially the foundations of motorsports that we, as Cusco, continually would like to support. On the asphalt, we are still focused at the top with “Japan Super Taikyu Endurance Series” where battles are extremely close in each race, testing the talents and resources of each of the top Japanese racing teams in production-based racing machines. Team Cusco will continue our challenge with ST4 class, entering the competitive Toyota 86, and drivers who mesh well to the task of driving in this grueling endurance series, along with highest of our expertise and resources poured into each race to chase the victory podiums. Supporting that will be other minor series such as “Toyota Gazoo Racing 86/BRZ Race” as well as the world-renowned, “Mazda Global MX5 Cup – Japan” to develop additional team skills and operational staff, and to show our part in supporting the vast world of motorsports. Finally, our commitment to grassroots will continue in the venues of “All-Japan Gymkhana,” and “All-Japan Dirt Trials” as we’ve done since the early day of our racing operations. Through all these racing and rally efforts, and experience we glean from such challenge, we are continually striving to offer newly developed and race-proven parts into the future. Our products are tried and tested in racing and are offered to our customers with highest level of confidence. “We race what we make” has been the core focus and reason for our existence as a manufacturer, and that is how we share our passion with all automotive enthusiasts.. The Toyota Vitz will participate in the ASN category with adjusted minimum weight due to the difference in engine displacement. Yuya SUMIYAMA, who oversees product development for Carrosser, will aim for a good result in his first APRC Championship series driving the Cusco Skoda Fabia R5, while at the same time serving as a development benchmark for the Vitz 4WD.
