ARROCHAR AND TARBET COMMUNITY COUNCIL

BAX, Anne S

To represent the community of Arrochar, Tarbet and Succoth.

GREENWOOD, Ellen Maria

I have been a resident in Arrochar since 2000. I worked for a number of years in the GP surgery – assisting to develop the evening clinic and YOUTH group. My family and I appreciate the benefits of the 3 Villages Hall – regularly supporting events and groups. I attend Arrochar Parish Church and help in the fundraising team. As the primary role of the Community Council is to communicate the views of the community to local authorities, I would welcome the opportunity to share my time and skills to support and promote a community where I am proud to live.

HAGGARTY, Mary

I have been a community councillor for the past twenty years first serving with Glencroe and now with Arrochar and Tarbet. Over the years I have been involved in many different projects and issues some of which have been solved or completed quickly and others are “still ongoing”. Being a community councillor is not a job for anyone who gives in easily, and I can assure you that I have over the years proved my staying power! My promise to you is that to the best of my ability I will continue to seek a fair deal from any Authority whose responsibility it is to deliver services to the residents of Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui.

KAY, Ian

Having been born and lived in the village of Tarbet all of my life, I am aware of the majority of issues which affect the local residents and the surrounding villages. Having served on the local Community Council for the last three years, I have supported the development of both play parks in the villages of Arrochar and Tarbet. My position for the last 3 years has been dealing with various planning developments from minor to major proposals and supporting the local communities with issues raised.

KINVIG, Timothy

I grew up in Tarbet when my family moved here in 1969, where my mother was a school teacher at Arrochar Primary School. Since leaving school I lived in and then in Houston, before moving back to Tarbet, where I currently live with my wife Maggie. I have three children at Arrochar Primary School. I currently work as a Manager for Loganair at Glasgow Airport. I would like to see Arrochar and Tarbet develop into a sustainable economic community, where people of all ages want to live and work with a high quality of life.

LOWE, William A

Being a community councillor is both satisfying and mentally rewarding. It means you support the community and assist the Council with jointly improving amenities and quality of life. Volunteering your time and effort is a way of paying back, albeit in a minor way in improving our neighbourhoods.

SEIL AND EASDALE COMMUNITY COUNCIL

BRUCE, Graeme

I will do my best to support and represent the views and needs of the local community.

COLSTON, Eileen Ann

If selected, I’d work closely with fellow representatives and & Bute Council to make Seil & Easdale places where people of all ages and backgrounds want to live and stay, and which attract visitors. I’d do my best in the Council to look after those things which are important in our daily lives: transport, utilities, health, policing, environment and planning. My family are originally from Argyll, and I settled in Seil nearly five years ago. Serving on the community Council would enable me to play a more active role in a community which has been so welcoming.

GORDON, John D M

I have been a permanent resident of the Isle of Seil since 1969. In 1972 I was invited to join Easdale Hall Committee (now Seil Island Hall) and remain on the committee having held at various times the posts of chairman, secretary and treasurer. I am also a Trustee of the hall and a director of the Kilbrandon Trust. I was a founder member and first secretary of the former Isle of Seil Sports Club. I am now fully retired and would welcome the opportunity to continue to devote some energy in supporting the communities of Seil and Easdale.

MACFADYEN, Alan

A member of the Community Council for the last seven years.

RAE, Robert John

I have served on the Seil and Easdale community council for several years playing an active part for over 10 years. I run the islands only recognised sail training centre and have a particular understanding of issues affecting our coastline, fishing, sea kayaking and sailing. Managing a holiday cottage I am familiar with the importance of tourism to the islands economy. My background in biology and medical research is helpful when there is a need for impartial assessment of community opinion. I believe that it is important to find solutions which balance the needs of various interests in the community.

ROBIN, ANNE M

As a retired art teacher, I have been privileged to devote some of my time, creativity, local knowledge and experience to the community I care about deeply, by serving as a community councillor for the last four years. I was born in Ellenabeich and educated locally and graduated from Glasgow School of Art in 1970. I am proud that generations of my family have lived in, worked on and cared for this beautiful area. However, it is the needs of the present and future generations I would like to represent ensuring that a balance is achieved to benefit the whole community.

STRUTHERS, Charles H

I have already served on the Seil and Easdale Community Council for 4 years. I have been mainly dealing with Roads as I have many contacts there and much experience in previous employment with contractors and council employees. I also dealt with the aftermath of the Seil Waste Water Treatment Project run by Scottish Water. The plant is now up and running but there is a history of post contract issues of landscaping, odours, noise and interference with some of the Community’s privately owned property. I am prepared to continue in the post at least until Scottish Water issues are mainly resolved and will continue to liaise with Road Engineers on matters appertaining to our area. LUSS AND ARDEN COMMUNITY COUNCIL

BISSETT, David

Having lived in Luss for the past 24 years I, like you all, have witnessed a lot of changes that have affected the quality of life of all the residents of Luss. I firmly believe that Luss needs a Community Council that regularly keeps in touch with residents and finds out what issues matter to them. I give my commitment that the new Community Council for Luss will do this and become an effective voice for its residents.

COLQUHOUN, Katherine

I consider myself well qualified to be a Community Councillor and, if elected, look forward to being of service to the local community. My family’s association with Loch Lomondside has existed for many centuries, and I am anxious to continue that tradition. I am a mother of two children, and as principal of a large independent primary school, have a deep understanding of the importance of schools, especially when it comes to ensuring the survival of Luss Primary School. I have no interest in politics, which I believe has no part to play in the life of the community.

FARRELL, Patrick

I have worked with Luss Community Council for more than 6 years which I enjoy very much. Improving roads, hedge cutting, church car park, beach clean up, drinking ban to make our village better and all areas of Luss and Arden. We have a lot more work to do - street lighting, signs, tree planting. I hope 2014 will be better for Argyll and Bute Council for funding local communities and all the Council workers.

GOURLAY, John W R

Lived past 7 years in Luss and feel interested in the running of the village and surrounding Parish.

MACEACHERN, Ian

As a person who was raised in Luss and has spent the greater part of his life here, I wish to do what I can to sustain Luss as a viable community and address the concerns of residents. Luss faces many challenges – threatened closures – school, church, visitor centre etc. The increasing proportion of our housing stock being bought as holiday homes (20% in village) makes it essential that family homes must be created. Also issues such as parking congestion, litter, anti-social behaviour during the summer time must be addressed.

MARSHALL, Iain R

My family and I are relatively new to Luss. We have enjoyed being part of the community and wish to participate in it by putting something back. This is my reason for standing for Luss and Arden Community Council. The over-riding need is for more affordable homes to enable more families such as ourselves to move to Luss and help make it a more viable community. The school needs children; the local shop needs local people to provide custom in the winter when the tourists depart. And the hall needs people to use it. PRESTWELL, David

My family have lived in Luss for twenty years and this is our home and our community. Luss and Arden will see much change as the Park becomes even more widely used and Luss Estates seeks implementation of its Strategic Development Framework. It is essential that local interests are represented to ensure that these changes constitute desirable improvements, bringing clear benefits to our area whilst remaining true to the character and values of the folk who live here. I am a Chartered Engineer by profession. My experience will strengthen our Community Council whilst representing the position of my fellow residents.

ROBERTSON, Peter

I am a semi-retired framer and have lived in Glendouglas for nearly all of my 68 years. This has given me a good insight to the environment in which we live and for which I care. I feel we must be careful that any development is sympathetic and beneficial to this small community and to all the residents who have the good fortune to stay in Luss and Arden. In the sixties I represented Luss in the Vale of Leven District Council. If I am elected I would like to see the Community Council having worthwhile and regular dialogue with our representatives on Argyll and Bute Council.

WALKER, Alyson

As someone who has grown up in the Area, I understand local issues and concerns and I would like to help see these resolved for the good and benefit of local people. I also feel it is of huge benefit to any small community to have a properly run Community Council, who democratically reflect the views of the community. I am willing to work with the local authorities (National Park/Luss Estates) to help make Luss and Arden a better place to live and work.

LOCHGOIL COMMUNITY COUNCIL

ALEXANDER, Lorna

I have now lived in for twenty five years and feel that I definitely have seen how a rural village like this works. I have worked in several areas of this village and have an understanding of the people who live here and what they might need to live comfortably and securely. I have also brought up my children in the village and have an understanding of what it is like for the young ones of the village to go through the local primary and then onto secondary school which means either a long travel each day or boarding.

BAIN, Elizabeth B

I have served the community of Lochgoil for some considerable years on the following Committes: - Community Council, Community Trust, LLTNPA Community Partnership Board Member and various Steering Groups. I feel I am well qualified to be a community councillor on Lochgoil Community Council.

BOLT, Dennis Laurence

I have lived in Lochgoilhead for five years having moved here after I retired as an Air Traffic Controller. I have been on the Community Council for the past two years and am seeking re- election for another term. I am also on the Committee of the Water Sports Club and am Treasurer of The Wee Goil. I am Chairman of the Steering Group which has been formed to look into the use the community could make of the old village shop. I consider it important to make a personal contribution towards keeping the community alive and vibrant.

HARDY, Ewan

Having had the privilege of serving the community of Lochgoilhead for one term I feel I am now in a better position to make a difference. I would hope that my previous experience will help identify areas that are important to our community and play an active part in making positive improvements.

MCALLISTER, Irene G

I have been a resident of Lochgoilhead for a number of years and feel very fortunate to do so. In the last two years I have served as a community councillor on Loch Goil Community Council and held the post of Secretary. I also hold the post of Secretary for the Lochgoilhead and Carrick community newspaper ‘The Wee Goil’ which is affiliated to the Community Council. I found to be a member of the Loch Goil Community Council interesting and was pleased to play a bigger part in the community.

MACINNES, Iain D

Elected many times by this community to serve you, I have never varied from my belief to serve the good people of Lochgoil area representing your needs and desires. I do as I think best for the community but always listen to your concerns as my first priority. Not being a member of any Political party I have always said that there is no place in our Community Council for politics. Having worked as a volunteer for this community attending many meetings over the years I believe I am well qualified to serve this community for another term.

MOFFAT, David

I moved to Lochgoil in 1993 after serving in the Army for 30 years. I continued working for the Military until October 2011 when I took retirement. During that Military Service I acted as a Facilities Manager becoming quite experienced in Health and Safety (NEBOSH qualified), Energy Management and all aspects of Building Management. My first place of residence in Lochgoil was at . I soon established myself in Carrick and was elected on to the Community Council. After serving on the Council at about one year I was elected as Chairman. I then stood down and moved to Lochgoilhead.

MURRAY, Thomas

I have been councillor/treasurer for over 30 years representing Carrick Castle and Loch Goil.

PRESCOTT, Ian

Ian Prescott understands the issues effecting rural communities having lived and worked in this region throughout his life. He has worked and travelled around the UK and the world but always called Lochgoilhead home. He is inspired to join the Community Council having recently returned to live in the village with his partner Joni and two children Erin and Ossian. Together they have set up a new business in the village called Argyll Voyageur Canoes and offer guided canoe trips on Loch Goil. Inspired by the Transition Town movement and an interest in sustainability he hopes to offer practical advice and information relative to developing a revitalised, resilient, rural community which is integrated with other communities in the region. He is interested in hearing from anyone with points of interest and hopes to influence change in waste reduction, energy, transport, local food production and community projects encouraging rural economy.

WYNNE, Matthew R

I’m 38 and moved into Lochgoilhead with my wife and two young sons in January 2013. We bought Drumsyniebeg in January 2012 and renovated it before moving in. I love it here! I’m a computer programmer and run a training business helping teams of programmers to improve. I work mostly from home, with a few days per month away visiting my customers. I want to join the Council to get to know the local community, find out how things work, and help improve things. I hope my experience running a business and my IT expertise can be useful.

CRAIGNISH COMMUNITY COUNCIL

CAMPBELL, Malcolm

I have lived and farmed all of my life in the parish except while attending secondary school and Agricultural College and I have watched the parish grow and develop into the present thriving community. If I am elected to Craignish Community Council I will endeavour to represent the community to the best of my ability.

GILL, Anthony R

I have lived in Ardfern for 34 years, run several small businesses in the area, mostly in the tourist industry. I have also been involved in several voluntary groups, in particular, Elemental Arts which organised the Craignish Arts festival for several years. I was proud to be invited on to Craignish Community Council and have worked on improving relations with the Roads Department and tried to expedite road repairs and improvements.

GREGORY, Aidan

I have put myself forward again as a candidate for the Craignish Community Council as I feel an obligation to my community to do what I can to support the village in whatever way I can. I feel there is a great diversity of people in the community and for whatever reason it tends to be the same type of person who volunteers themselves for positions on the local committees. As a younger member of the community I feel I can add to the diversity of the Community Council and represent another view of the village and what it means to me.

MACKILLIGIN, Robert A N

I have lived in Ardfern for 26 years and have been a community councillor for 18 years and sometimes its Chairperson. I have been Chairperson of the Craignish Community Company for 6 years. The Company has endeavoured to provide affordable housing in Ardfern and has a proposal before the Argyll Council that can achieve this. If elected I will press for the cooperation between the Community Council and the Company to continue until we have brought this housing about.

MONBUREAU, Laura A

I moved to Craignish six years ago, but have known the community as a frequent visitor for many years. When my children came up for school age I decided to settle here. The reasons for that decision are diverse, but the main one was our eclectic and supportive community. It is international; made up of artists, farmers, intellectuals, paupers and millionaires, all of whom come together. When we gather with our children, there is a feeling of extended family. My reason for wanting to represent the community on the council is to be in a position to nurture this unique community. I am in the process of setting up a social enterprise, and one day hope to build my own home here. I would like to see Craignish always be a place where visitors feel welcome and residents feel safe in the security of homes for themselves and for their children should they wish to live here; a place where the arts, small businesses, and adventures thrive!

RICHARDSON, Peter

I have lived in the Parish of Craignish for over 28 years. My 3 children all educated at Craignish Primary School. I am passionate about this community and have been involved in various community projects over the past years. I was Chair of the Village Hall Committee when the new hall was built, was one of the founding members of Craignish Boat Club, and have served on the Community Council for various terms as well. I want to keep Craignish a vibrant and sustainable community, make sure we have a strong local economy providing jobs for young people but at the same time maintain the precious things that makes this place what it is – the environment that surrounds us and the community we live in.

SMYTH, Mary C

I was born and brought up in Craignish and since I returned in 2002 I have lived in both Craobh Haven and Barbreck. I therefore have an understanding of the communities on both sides of the peninsula. I have a wide range of interests and I have contacts within all sectors of this varied community. I would like to see Craignish continue to grow in steady organic manner but to retain its unique and vibrant character.

TURNER, Rosemary

I have lived in Craignish since 1995 and been involved in a number of local activities. As I was working full time I didn’t feel I could give the Community Council the attention needed. Now I’m retired I think I can. I am not afraid to speak my mind or argue my corner if required. I care about Craignish and what happens in the community and want to help keep the area as good as it can be. Being on the Community Council will allow me to work with others towards that end. I am worth voting for, I think.

CAIRNDOW COMMUNITY COUNCIL

BREMNER, Alistair

I have lived in the community of Cairndow for 40 years and have seen many changes. I have been involved before in the community council a role which I enjoyed and felt I help to make a difference. I am involved with community things such as, bowling, dog trials committee, and was fundamental in putting our cricket team together which was successful for many years before ending due to the pitch being unavailable for play, if successful I would do my best as a community councillor for my village.

SUMSION, David

If elected I will be working towards making the Community Council’s discussions more relevant to the issues that are of interest to Cairndow residents. As a first step I believe the Community Council should consider restricting attendance at their meetings to those people who live in the Cairndow electoral district. (The criteria could be anyone who has lived in Cairndow for at least six months out of the previous twelve months.) The Community Council could also choose to invite representatives of local businesses for specific meetings.

CANDIDATE STATEMENTS

BUTE COMMUNITY COUNCIL

BAXTER, Frank

I have been a Bute community councillor for more than ten years. I have represented Bute Community Council as the Transport Spokesperson for most of that time helping to improve transport services for the Bute community. I have also held the position of Vice Convener for the last period of three to four years assisting the Convener with their duties. I consider that I can still have a valuable contribution towards the improvement of services for the community of Bute.

BEVERLEY, Raymond John

I am a self-employed furniture maker and have lived on the Isle of Bute with my family for just over ten years. As the economic climate continues to make life even more challenging for the people living and working on Bute I would like to help. I hope that by serving on the Community Council that will enable me to do so.

BYE, Kevin Raymond

Having lived here for 10 years and been involved in many volunteer/new projects (mostly involving school leavers) I feel my experience could be useful in helping in a community environment. I currently volunteer for Bute Advice Centre and along with my partner run the Pillar Box – Ardbeg Post Office. I feel it’s time to change some of the long standing issues on the island such as the state of the town and unemployment. With my background and current contact with public I feel I could make a difference.

CATLIN, Martin

I have lived with my family on the Isle of Bute for sixteen years. I’m very interested in helping to enhance the many positive aspects of the island. There is still much potential for the sustainable development of the island, and I would be very interested in playing a role. I have engaged positively in community enhancement projects. I was a founding member of the local recycling group Bute Waste Watchers. Wherein I played an active role in collection of materials and was a progressive chairperson. I was also extremely engaged in the community acquisition of Rhubodach Forest.

COMMON, Michael Stuart

I became a regular visitor to Bute in 1985, a weekend resident in 1998 and a full time resident in 2003. I am an Emeritus Professor at the University of Strathclyde, where I worked 1998 – 2003. As an Ecological Economist my work concerns the role of the environment in economic activity and sustainable development. If elected I would take particular interest in matters related to sustainable development, energy, transport and planning. I would like to see better communication between the Community Council and Bute residents whom it serves.

CROMACK, Ellen McFadden

I was born in Rothesay but spent 30 years in England and Wales. I have now been back in Bute for 15 years, giving me an insight into how the town works. I am a member of the Bute Forum for Older Voices, Bute Drug and Alcohol and Safety Forums, Rothesay Patient Participation Forum and CHP Highland. My special concern is the elderly, particularly since the Annex has closed and the hospital has halved the number of beds. Living in Kilchattan Bay I feel this part of the island needs a representative, but filling Rosemary Laxton’s shoes will be difficult.

DONALD, Jane

I have been a member of the Bute Community Council for several years and have found it very interesting. I also represent the BCC as a Trustee of the Bute Advice Centre and prepare a statement on the matters pertaining to them after attending their quarterly meetings. I feel that relating the problems of members of the public to the BCC is a very valuable asset to all concerned. People do not always want to complain personally and having a spokesperson is a way around this, so long as they are willing to give their name to the subject discussed.

DUFFY, Paul Richard James

After 5 years of living, working and raising a family on Bute it is clear that the Community Council has a central role in how the island develops in the future. My strong belief is that if you want good things to happen then you have to help make them happen. This submission is borne from that belief. If elected I intend to use the skills and experience gained in over 22 years working in the heritage sector to help the island achieve its modern potential as a fantastic place to work, live and visit.

GILLESPIE, Gordon Kenneth

Recently retired from Argyll and Bute Council Grounds Maintenance after 21 years service. I was heavily involved in the in Bloom competitions with high positive outcomes. For the last 21 years I have organised and ran the Isle of Bute Line Dance Festival successfully, bringing visitors from all over Europe and the UK to the island. This was achieved without any grants from any source.

GILLIESPIE, William John

I have been a member of Bute Community Council for approximately 4 – 5 years and I am a regular attendee. I am past President of Bute Amateur Players and have directed 9 productions over the past 8 years. I am a Group Member of the Local Scotland in Bloom Working Party and I have represented Rothesay in Collection of Silver Gilt Award for that competition in Aberdeen. I have contributed time to local voluntary work eg Bute Forest, Town Centre improvements.

HILL, Barbara Ann

I have been a resident on Bute for 36 years and raised my family here. With my husband, I have been a self-employed owner of ‘The Wool Shop’, Craigmore Tearoom, and for over 25 years a ladies ‘fashion’ shop in Tower Street and in Gourock. For the last 17 years we have been owners of The Moorings Bed and Breakfast in Mountstuart Road. I feel confident that the knowledge and life skills gained in these business years could be of invaluable contribution to that of membership of Bute Community Council. I hope you will look favourably on my application. HOPKINS, Ian L

I have lived most of my life on Bute, so know the island well. I have also served as a community councillor for a good number of years so know how it operates, and what kind of work it does. I am particularly interested in environmental matters, and how they affect Bute. I have served as a committee member of Beachwatch Bute (who look after our beaches and coastline) since its inauguration.

JUKES, Elaine P

I have been a member of Bute Community Council for a few years which has been very interesting and helpful. I try to help with the problems of members of the public and the Bute Community Council is a very valuable and able asset to the Councillors. Not everyone wants to complain when things go wrong so we at the Bute Community Council as their spokespersons make it much easier for them so long as they are willing to give their name to the subject to be discussed, even if they are unwilling I will still try to help put the problem right.

MCDOUGALL, Duncan

I was co-opted to Community Council originally because of my employment in youth work, primary school and as Community Service Supervisor for 20 years. I was previously a farmer. I have lived and worked in the rural area of Bute. I have long experience of island matters and history. I am interested in the Community Council having a balance of all age groups. I like to think that I apply a common sense attitude contribution to Community Council, drawing on my experience over six decades having been on the island all my life.

MOLLOY, Karen Elizabeth

I have lived on Bute for just over 11 years and have been active in many community groups including the arts group, drama group and more recently with Radio Bute. I am interested in many things and hope that I can bring something new to the Community Council. I want to see Bute move forward and become a vibrant and thriving community once again.

SLEPOKURA, Peter John

I feel privileged and greatly enjoy living on Bute and I want to contribute to making life on the island more pleasant and more convenient. I am fortunate to have had a successful career in media production, writing and directing films and teaching at University. I now have some spare time and I wish to put my skills and experience at the disposal of Bute Community Council to benefit my local community.

SPROWL, Carol Anne

I am 37, married with two children; I have lived on Bute all my life, and have worked in the care sector in between having children since I left school. I am an active fundraiser, myself and my family raised funds for a memorial play frame in memory of my son who sadly passed away when he was 4. I also took part in a zip slide for McMillan a couple of years ago and raised over 500. I would like to bring a younger person’s view to the Bute Community Council.

STRONG, Grace Loudon

Currently I am the Convener of Bute Community Council, a post which I have held for almost 2 years. Prior to taking on this role I was a member of Bute Community Council for 16 years serving as the representative for Ardbeg. I appreciate the fact that I am able to present the concerns and needs of the local people at Bute Community Council meetings where our local Councillors are present. I recognise my responsibility to follow up any action agreed on. As Health representative on Bute Community Council I attend various other meetings pertinent to this subject and report back to members at subsequent Bute Community Council meetings.

TAIT, Henry

Having been born and a resident on Bute for all of my 52 years I have seen a decline in both fabric and social conditions, more so in the last 20 to 30 years. I have a large number of people I interact with on a daily basis and I am hearing more and more complaints regarding our island. I would like an opportunity to be involved in the Community Council to see if I could bring some fresh ideas and help boost confidence especially in the younger generation as they are the future of our island. Thanks.

WALLACE, Peter

Peter Wallace runs a small business on the island, and is also involved with many local organisations trying to make a difference to the quality of life we enjoy. “I enjoy living on Bute, which is why I want to do my part to make sure that the island remains a great place to live for our children and grandchildren” said Peter.

MACDONALD, Ronald

I have been involved with helping in the community for over sixteen years as a community councillor, a Director of both the Community Development Trust and a Director of the National Park’s Community Partnership. I find giving back to the community of Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui as a volunteer very rewarding and if I am elected I will continue to work with all organisations and authorities who serve our area by helping our community get the best services due to them.

MUSTARDE, Jean V

I would aim to continue to support the local residents to solve the problems that face them daily, reminding the varied agencies of their responsibilities. To pressure those responsible for improvements for safety reasons. To continue the ongoing work of the Community Council, trying to ensure that the varied agencies and landowners consult the local people on their plans and their commitments to the area.

PAGE, Diana

I have been a member of my local Community Council since 2009 and since then have been successful in raising funds and funding from various local and national funders. We have used these monies to upgrade our play areas. I am passionate about my local community and would like to continue to serve it to the best of my ability. If I am lucky enough to be voted in for a second term I would like to continue my work with the play areas by helping to create a play area in Succoth.

QUEEN, Joan

I’m already on the Community Council for the above and have found the experience very rewarding ie helping the community. I have lived in the area for 13 years and for 7 of these I have ran a local business in Arrochar which is the hub of local knowledge. Living in Inveruglas I drive the A82 north of Tarbet daily and understand both sides of the disagreements which fall regarding this stretch of road. I would relish another term on the Community Council and think there is nothing better than making your community a happier and healthier environment.

ROSS, Ronald

I am born and bred local and as such my interests are solely to help and assist the people of Arrochar, Tarbet and Ardlui to the best of my abilities. I have no time for party politics being involved with Community Councils but will do all I can for the local area. I have been a community councillor for 20 years the past 8 as Chair. I am Watch Commander at Arrochar Fire Station being a fire fighter for 33 years. I have lived and worked among the local people all my life and been involved with decisions that have affected the villages especially in recent years.

WRIGHT, Shauna K

I have decided to stand for this election as I have now lived within the village with my husband and one child for the past seven years. As a full time working mother with a child at school I am more than aware of the issues our community/residents face on a daily basis and believe I have the skills and knowledge to be able to offer assistance to the Community Council members and support the community as a whole. It is my opinion that we need a range of members to better outcome the needs of the community.
